Seeing Life From God’s View

Rick warren p.44, The way you see your life shapes your life. How you define life determines your destiney. How do you see your life? circus, minefield, a roller coaster, a puzzle, carousel - sometimes up somethimes down, card game - play the hand we are dealt
What image comes to your mind when asked that question? That image is your life metaphor. it;s the view of life that you hold , consciously or unconsciously, in your mind. Often peiople express their life metaphors through clothes, jewelry, cars, hairstyles, bumper stickers, even tattoos.
Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

The LORD has made everything for his own purpose,

4 While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. 5 God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.

what life image comes to mind when you think about this?
What is the result of such a life image?

6 So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. 7 For we live by believing and not by seeing. 8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.

So keep the focus at all cost. Never ever ever loose that focus. For me it the prupose focused Life which is formost. For me its purpose focused life vs Purpose driven life.
tithing, church attendance, worship, life groups, witnessing, prayer, scripture reading, etc was all a to do list with out a life focus. So it became laborus rote, burdemson , without life focuse.
Golf game focus? Wrestling focus? Quilting focus? Cooking focus?
Practical / Most important advise Paul Philippians 3:10–16 “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead! I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.”
10-11 what is Pauls life image? How does he see life working? Foot race because of the greek games in Philpi.
v 12 what is Pauls already experience with jesus but not yet?
v 12 why does Paul press on? For what?
v 12 For what purpose did Jesus posses you>
v.13 What is going on in Paul’s mind and thinking?

Looking forward -

“to will, wish, to stretch out or forth intensively, “the eye goes before and draws on the hand, the hand goes berfore and draws on the foot.” Lightfoot.
