Triumph

It is called the triumphal entry. But to those of us who are familiar with the story we so many things that differ from what we call triumph.

The crowd thought that Jesus was bringing just their salvation but this event was so much more!

Matthew mentions Zecheriah because of his audience

Branches on the road mentioned

Mark mentions a colt on which noone has sast. Why?

Jesus goes into the temple in Mark. It is late so they go to Bethany

Luke mentions the people near the colt on the street were owners

Luke mention the distruction of the temple because of Israel’s rejection of Christ. they were supposed to be the “city of peace” Psalm 122:6

John mentions the raising of Lazarus as motivation for the crowd.

John mentions Greek Jews wanting to speak with Jesus;

John mentions the Pharisees talking amongst themselves about their inability to stop people from following Jesus. His popularity was growing.
