Ephesians 6:10-18
“And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no weekend war that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.”
Pray
Topic: stay dangerous
Intro:
It’s not a negative meaning to the word like we usually think when you hear the word dangerous.my generation and up says “stay safe”. Some of my generation and down says “Satu dangerous”. It’s not about ops …
"Stay dangerous" is a motivational phrase that encourages boldness, assertiveness, and risk-taking, rather than literal danger. It implies a commitment to excellence, drive, and mental toughness, focusing on sustained success and personal fulfillment. It's about embracing challenges and not being afraid to take risks,
Pace yourself/breathe
1. Stay Strong
You will notice that right now it is both popular and unpopular to be a Christian. You will be praised by one crowd for your faith in Christ and ridiculed by another group for your belief in Christ. It’s popular to claim Christianity but it’s not popular to live according to the Bible. I go through it as an adult and especially anyone who is a open and unashamed about their faith.
I was talking to a little brother of mine who’s in school at IU Bloomington. In his classes his faith and beliefs are challenged and the thought is that this is educational. In schools even where some preachers are studying the bible those teaching them the bible are challenging what the bible says to persuade them that their faith in Christ must be more intellectual than from a pure heart. It’s only popular to put in your bio but not to live by it.
The Bible tells us
(2nd Timothy the 4th chapter) that if we look at current events In the world society will say that right is wrong and wrong is right. You will be pressured to believe nothing is wrong as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone with no concern whether it hurts God or not.
You will have to make the decision to be 10 toes down a believer not just that Jesus exist but that his way of life is the best way. Be dangerous enough to believe that he works miracles even if others can’t understand or even imagine that God is good. Stay dangerous enough to be willing to tell others that what social media shows you is temporary but faith in Christ gives you an eternal hope.
2. Stay observant vs 11-13
-know your enemy
Sometimes we just didn’t see something coming, we got caught off guard because we weren’t ever considering it coming from that angle.
who struggles with anger or anxiety?
This is often Satans attempt to turn being observant against us. We should be observant in faith believing that Christ has already given us the tools we need for victory. And still ready for battle at anytime
If satan can’t make us anxious he will try his best to distract us. A tool of distraction is addictions. Satan is the ultimate “rizzler he’s rizzly bear” LOL I got dad jokes for days….
-Music has the ability to change moods good or bad. Do you notice that when you were a kid and watched kid movies you didn’t like sitting still. When I worked in a daycare back when frozen was first released…kids were criss cross apple sauce until Elsa’s sister and olloff started singing. Tiktok is popular because people can find music and put it to a clip that grabs your attention. IG is no longer about pictures but about reels and reels and stories are better than pics because they come with music. Nobody wants to watch a reel, a tiktok or a movie with terrible music.
-media outlets, materials/substances and even moods/emotions
Some people are simply addicted to negativity do you know anyone that is always arguing even on a good day? It seems they can never be happy because someone is always making them angry. Does anyone know an EXTREMELY petty individual? Someone who has to have the last word or the last laugh…? What about the person who is addicted to material things and is a perfectionist that can’t be happy unless everything is the way they say it should be?
I thought of a few people and then I saw myself at different stages of my life. Distracted even by other people’s opinions of me and a lack of self esteem. Because often we think others think the worst of us and whole time “it really be us” against ourselves.
Marianne Williamson said “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
There’s only one you and your irreplaceable! You’re valuable! You have more people on your side than are against you! You have the power to make other people see life in the greatest way if you don’t buy into the lie that “your truth is the truth.”
People will tell you to live in your truth while living a lie themselves. STOP THE CAP…we know you in real life…the money you flexed on the gram was prop money…I’ll stop…I got a little petty…DON’T BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE NOT ENOUGH AND THAT SOMEONE ELSE CAN BE A BETTER VERSION OF YOU…
***encouragement not to be distracted by low self. Esteem. ***
Stay strong, stay observant, and finally…
3. Stay Equipped
“put on the full armor”
Football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball tennis, track, video games etc so many things in life have a defensive strategy.
Boxing is my favorite… Tank Davis is is said to be the best in the sport right now. Others say Bud Crawford others say Boots Ennis, Clarissa Shields “the GWOAT”, Alycia Bombgardener and let’s not forget the OG Floyd “Money” Mayweather . What they all have in common and what Mayweather mastered is great defensive skills in the ring. Footwork/head movement/ angles, but none of that matters if they don’t have their gloves on, the proper boots, and mouth piece. These aren’t offensive weapons they are defensive weapons.
You can use your gloves to block, but they also keep you from breaking your hand on contact.
The boots, aren’t for fashion they’re for grip and for agility, The mouth guard is not just to protect their teeth. If you breath with your mouth wide open in the ring you can get your jaw broke. In their greatness with all their training they never step in the ring without the proper armour.
belt of truth,
breastplate of righteousness
shoes for the gospel of peace.
shield of faith,
helmet of salvation,
sword of the Spirit,
The Belt of Truth: Represents the foundation of truth and integrity in one's life, essential for resisting deception.
Breastplate of Righteousness: Symbolizes the protection of God's righteousness, which shields against the attacks of the enemy.
Shoes of Readiness for the Gospel of Peace:Represents the readiness to share the gospel and spread peace, essential for evangelism and reconciliation.
Shield of Faith: Represents the protection offered by faith, which can extinguish the fiery darts of the evil one.
Helmet of Salvation: Symbolizes the protection of one's mind and thoughts, guarding against the enemy's lies and temptations.
Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God):Represents the power of God's Word, which is both a weapon of offense and defense in spiritual warfare.
We can at no point put our spiritual armor away. Even if there’s not a war actively happening we have to keep our armor not just but nearby and prepared.
Even though it is not a part of the armor an equally important part is the mindset of prayer. “In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.”
What makes anyone the most dangerous is staying connected to God in prayer. Not only does he give us weapons and armor, but in prayer he give us strategies for how to use the weapons and when to use the weapons.
The Importance of Prayer:
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
