1 Corinthians 15:12–19 NASB 2020
12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, your faith also is in vain. 15 Moreover, we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ only in this life, we are of all people most to be pitied.
This is the word of God for the People of God…..
Are you ready for the message God has for us today?

The Resurrection

We are given assurance the what we believe is from the testimony of scripture and witnesses — 1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1 Corinthians 15:1–8 NASB 2020
1 Now I make known to you, brothers and sisters, the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand, 2 by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 3 For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; 8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.
Consider the sheer number of witnesses — 527 in this passage alone
The resurrected Christ was seen on 12 separate occasions by different people in different circumstances. — Develop as I can
Think at how powerful the testimony of witnesses to the resurrection as thousands came to Christ! — Acts 2 (3,000) and Acts 4 (5,000)!
This is not some made up tale! Even Jewish priests were converted.Acts 6:7
Acts 6:7 NASB 2020
7 The word of God kept spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.

Hope in Christ

The resurrection is important!
It is through the resurrection that we have hope in Christ!
1 Corinthians 15:19 NASB 2020
19 If we have hoped in Christ only in this life, we are of all people most to be pitied.
If the resurrection did not happen as the witnesses gave testimony then our faith is useless!
The resurrection is what brings hope to our faith — 1 Corinthians 13:13
1 Corinthians 13:13 NASB 2020
13 But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Hope is to trust in someone with regard to our future
Because we believe that Christ rose from the dead we entrust Him with our future.
The reality is if we have hope in Christ and he was not raised from the dead then we are to be pitied by the world around us!
Our hope in Christ is in vain!
1 Corinthians 15:12–17 NASB 2020
Our faith is worthless — devoid of significance!
This is the doubt the world wants us to have!

He is Risen!

1 Corinthians 15:20 NASB 2020
20 But the fact is, Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.
At this present moment, even today, the reality is that Christ has in fact been raised from the dead and is currently seated at the right hand of God!
He was raised in the past two thousand years ago and the effect of that resurrection is still being felt today! — Develop
Conclusion
There is always hope! — Depressed disciples felt hopeless, then Sunday Came!
He is Risen!
1 Corinthians 15:50–52 NASB 2020
50 Now I say this, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold, I am telling you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
This life ends then we too will be resurrected!
Back to what Paul says is of first importance — The good news of Christ!
