Read Isaiah 53:4-6

Borne Our Grief vs 4a

Isaiah 53:4a “Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows;
He made our griefs His own, and our sorrows as if they were His.
The image is that He loaded them up and carried them on His back, so we wouldn’t have to.
How many people carry around pain  griefs and sorrows?
For it to do us any good, we must release them

Smitten by God vs. 4b

Isaiah 53:4b yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.

Pierced & Crushed vs 5a

Isaiah 53:5a But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities;

Healed by His Wounds vs 5b

Isaiah 53:5b upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.”

We have Gone Astray vs 6a

Isaiah 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way;

Iniquity Laid on Jesus vs. 6b

Isaiah 53:6 and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
