Hope Restored
Hope Restored
But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened.
Have you ever felt hopeless
Despair of loss (life, flood, tornado…)
Where do you turn? How do you get passed the unanswerable questions?
How do you move on?
Hope is the fuel that enables us to press o.
We need Hope!
Jesus is Living Hope and was all about Hope.
People came to Jesus because of Hope in who He was and what He could do!
Possessed son / Centurion / Dorcus / Issue of Blood / Deliverence
As long as there is Hope, you can hang on. When you loose Hope, death is on its way.

Purpose gets challenged / Joy gets suppressed / you function like a Robot
The kinsman of Hope is Faith
The kinsman of Hope is Faith
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
When you lose Hope you lose Faith. When you lose Faith you lose Hope.
When you lose Hope you lose Faith. When you lose Faith you lose Hope.
The disciples had lost their Faith and Hope. Has that ever happed to you?
The Resurrection is all about restoring our Hope and subsequently, Faith.
That first resurrection morning
Tell the story
He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” And they remembered His words, and returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
Confidence in the Resurrection changed them and it will change you!!

and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead? He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” And they remembered His words, and returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
They were in deep depression
Think of all they had been through…
They had been riding the wave of miracles.
Great excitement for future
Now fearful of death, if they killed Jesus what will they do to us.
The Resurrection destroyed the power of depression!

And He said to them, “What things?” And they said to Him, “The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people, and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to the sentence of death, and crucified Him. But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened. But also some women among us amazed us. When they were at the tomb early in the morning, and did not find His body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just exactly as the women also had said; but Him they did not see.”
We were hoping…
All their eggs were in the basket of the king who came in on the donkey
If He could not bring redemption then who could.
If He could not be received as our Messianic King, then who could.
Their Hope for redemption. Died with Jesus on the cross.
Until they saw Him breath His last, all things were possible. He just needed to do another miracle. But now…
The resurrection restored the hope of redemption and the understanding of spiritual redemption.
The Resurrection restored the Joy of Hope
The Resurrection restored the Joy of Hope
While they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be to you.” But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
They had lost their joy.
Their dreams were crushed.
But now, they were so overjoyed they could hardly believe their eyes.
… joy and amazement
Do you have Hope?
Do you have Hope?
Are you depressed in life?
Are you in need of Redemption?
Are you in need of the Joy of Life in Christ?
Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why have you become disturbed within me?
Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him
For the help of His presence.
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.
