Hope is ALIVE!

Matthew 28:1–8 NKJV
Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

A World without Hope (The Fall)

Sin brought a curse upon the earth in The Fall.
We live in a broken world.
We live among people who are broken.
We live in a world without hope and without God.
Ephesians 2:12 NKJV
that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
1 Corinthians 15:19 NKJV
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.

The Day Hope Arrived (The Manger)

Isaiah 9:2 NKJV
The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.
The birth of Jesus Christ brought hope into a hopeless world and into the lives of broken people.

The Day Hope Died (The Cross)

When Jesus died, it seems that hope had also died.
Mark 14:50 NKJV
Then they all forsook Him and fled.

The Days Hopelessness Reigned (The Tomb)

Luke 24:9–11 NKJV
Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.
How could they live without Jesus?
How could life ever be the same again without Him?
Where do they go from here?

The Day Hope came ALIVE! (The Resurrection)

Matthew 28:5–6 NKJV
But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
