Easter children talk

hello children Today is Easter Sunday — the day Jesus rose from the dead! But before there was his death and resurrection, there was a courtroom… and a sentence.
1. The Courtroom Setup
1. The Courtroom Setup
[Sit in the “Judge” chair wearing the robe. Hold a gavel.]
“Let’s imagine a courtroom. God is the Judge — perfect, good, and always fair.”
“And we… are the ones on trial.”
2. Call a Volunteer
2. Call a Volunteer
[Pick a confident or willing child. Have them sit in the “Guilty” chair.]
“I need a volunteer.
“But let’s be honest for a second.”
(Look at them kindly — and speak to them directly but gently.)
“Have you ever not respected your parents?”
(Let them answer — likely yes)
“Have you ever lied, even a small one?”
(Wait for response)
“Have you ever hated your brother or sister or friend — even just in your heart?”
“Have you ever wanted something someone else had and felt angry or jealous?”
(Pause.)
“Based on your own confession… you’re guilty.”
[Give them the sign labeled “SIN” or a “guilty” label. Let the audience feel the tension.]
3. The Judge’s Dilemma
3. The Judge’s Dilemma
“God is the Judge. He loves us. But He also has to be fair. He can’t pretend sin never happened. He must deal with it.”
“The punishment for sin is separation from God — spiritual death. That’s the cost. And we’ve all sinned — every single one of us.”
[Gesture toward the audience. Speak slowly and clearly.]
“That means we’re all sitting in that seat. And the sentence must be carried out.”
4. The Great Exchange
4. The Great Exchange
[Stand as the judge. Slowly take off the judge’s robe.]
“But here’s where everything changes. God didn’t just leave us here.”
“He stepped down from the Judge’s seat.”
[Put on the “SIN” shirt or sign.]
“He became human. Jesus — fully God, but also fully man. He sat in our place and took our punishment.”
[Sit in the guilty seat.]
“He took the wrath. The pain. The shame. The cross. Everything that we deserved.”
[Now, stand and gently take the “SIN” label off the child and give them the “Judge’s” robe.]
“And then… He gave us what only He deserved: His righteousness, His forgiveness, and a place in God’s family.”
5. The Resurrection
5. The Resurrection
[Remove the “SIN” sign from yourself. Put the judge’s robe back on.]
“Jesus didn’t stay in the grave. He rose, because he didnt sin, And now He invites us all — guilty people like you and me — into His new life.”
[Let the child stand beside you — free.]

Final Reflection (short, warm, and clear):
“That’s the Easter message. Not just that Jesus died… but that He died for us. And that He rose again so we could live with Him — now and forever.”
