Bible Passage: John 19:30

I'm Reminded of a story of man who desired to become wealthy real estate investor, and he put together a plan to accomplish his Goal. He Began to work to save up his money and begin to get with contractors and begin to work his credit. And finally he Got all what he needed to start his investing. And we Began the foundation pouring of his First Home. He suddenly had an heart attack and passed away. And at his Homegoing service. His Now widow began to tell all about his life story and fondest memories of their life together and when she began to all about his great desire to began his real estate investing career and his excitement for his first home to be built and how he didn't get to see it to its completion and at the close of remarks she said in disappointment that husband Died with unfinished business. And this morning we are here to celebrate this morning a who ineed died But he Died with his business straight. But This Morning Churches are filled with people not just because it is sunday but because unlike our story this morning a man Died but his business was finished. Jesus comes from the shining cloaks of Glory and wrap himself in humanity hung on the cross and declared that it is Finished.

MPT: In John 19:30, Jesus declares 'It is finished' as he breathes his last breath, signifying the completion of His atoning work on the cross for humanity's salvation.

MPS: This message reminds Christians that through Christ's completed work, we can find true rest and freedom from the weight of sin and the pressure to perform. It encourages us to rely on Christ for our salvation rather than our own efforts or merits.

Big Idea: Christ's finished work on the cross frees us from the burden of sin and the need for self-justification, calling us to live in the light of His grace and mercy.

probing question: What was it that Jesus declared it was finish?

1. Finished: Christ Atoning work

John 19:30

Exegesis: In this powerful verse, you could emphasize that when Jesus declares 'It is finished,' He is announcing the completion of God's redemptive work. This statement is not one of resignation, but of triumph. Perhaps, you could suggest that this is the moment where the ultimate sacrifice is made, fulfilling the prophecies of the Old Testament. It could be powerful to communicate that because of this finished work, believers are liberated from sin and need no longer strive for self-justification, but can rest in His grace and mercy.

TO truly understand the meaning of Jesus declaration one must understand to atoning work of the Old testament. The Bible declares that all have sin and fallen short of the glory of God man Kind had become sinful and needed a way to have forgiveness so that the wrath of God wouldn't be poured out them. So God gave them away of pardon ship through the process of what the bible calls atonement. Atonement is when they would take a lamp or bull or sheep with spot or blemish. And the high priest would go into the temple behind the veil and shed blood for the forgiveness of sin of the children of Israel. Furthermore they had what was called the scapegoat when the priest would lay hands on the goat and release him into the wilderness as a represented of the sins of Israel being carried away and never to be returned. So Jeus has become our Slain lamb and when was hung up on that cross for sins.
