Acts 16:31 “They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.””
If you are saved, you are saved because you believe because you have placed your faith and trust in Lord Jesus the Christ.
On this Easter morning, April 20, 2025, the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way you are saved, but do you know Him as the Lord Jesus Christ?
He is not just Lord. He is not just Jesus. He is not just Christ. He is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ is not just a title. Knowing the Lord Jesus Christ is essential to your salvation, and each part of His title or name is essential to who He is.
As we commemorate Easter, I am going to tell you about the Lord Jesus Christ, and as a precautionary warning, let me say this.
If you have not placed your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you need to be saved.
Romans 1:3–4 “concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, who was declared the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,”

1. Jesus is Lord.

Jesus is Lord means Jesus is God. The Lord is Jesus. Jesus is God. Jesus is deity. He is the Lord divine.
The Lord was the Creator.
Colossians 1:15–17 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—
all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”
The Lord has always been. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the beginning, and He is the ending. The Lord is Jesus.
The Lord is the Great I AM.
Exodus 3:14 “And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “This is what you shall say to the sons of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ””
In the Old Testament, the name for God was so revered that it was unspeakable, so God told Moses to call Him the GREAT I AM.
The GREAT I AM is God. In the New Testament, Jesus identifies Himself as the Great I AM.
John 8:57–58 “So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.””
John 18:5–6 “They answered Him, “Jesus the Nazarene.” He said to them, “I am He.” And Judas also, who was betraying Him, was standing with them. Now then, when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.”
It is the great declaration of the New Testament. The Lord of the New Testament was the Great I AM who talked to Moses. Jesus declares to the Pharisees and those who arrested Him that He is the I AM.
Jesus did many things on earth to prove that He was I AM.
He turned water into wine.
He healed the centurion’s son.
He healed the paralyzed man at the pool of Bethesda.
He fed the 5,000.
He walked on the water.
He healed the man born blind.
He raised Lazarus from the dead.
Those are all amazing, but the greatest thing He did to show that He is God is the Resurrection.
Romans 1:4 “who was declared the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,”
The Resurrection undeniably verifies He is God. The Resurrection seals the deal. The Resurrection is the Christian’s great hope, and the lost world’s greatest fear. He was seen by over 500 eyewitness after He was resurrected.
Sometimes you hear people say, “To be saved, you have to make Jesus Lord of your life.” Well, dear friend, that is not true. No one makes Jesus Lord. He is Lord. He is the I AM.

2. Jesus is Man.

Romans 1:3 “concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh,”
Jesus is Lord. Jesus is man. Now, the Resurrection proves His deity. What proves His humanity?
Jesus was born.
Luke 2:6–7 “While they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Jesus matured.
Luke 2:40–42 “Now the Child continued to grow and to become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the favor of God was upon Him. His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover.
And when He was twelve years old, they went up there according to the custom of the feast;”
Luke 3:23 “When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years old, being, as was commonly held, the son of Joseph, the son of Eli,”
Jesus was born. Jesus aged.
Jesus was tempted.
Luke 4:1–2 “Now Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He was hungry.”
Jesus experienced birth, maturation, trouble, and temptation for you as you. He we went through the same as you and me for you and me.
Hebrews 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin.”
The difference between Jesus and you and Jesus and me is that He faced what you and I face without ever sinning.
Jesus grew tired as He slept during a storm. Jesus got hungry. Jesus got thirsty as He said, “I thirst” from the Cross. As the Lord, He would have never He could have never experienced those things, but as Jesus, He did.
He became Jesus to experience what you experience, so He could provide for you what you need.
1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.”
Hebrews 7:25–27 “Therefore He is also able to save forever those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens; who has no daily need, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices,
first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because He did this once for all time when He offered up Himself.”
Most importantly, for you and me, Jesus suffered as a man.
Isaiah 52:14 “Just as many were appalled at you, My people, So His appearance was marred beyond that of a man, And His form beyond the sons of mankind.”
Isaiah 53:7–8 “He was oppressed and afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.
By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off from the land of the living For the wrongdoing of my people, to whom the blow was due?”
John 19:1–3 “So Pilate then took Jesus and had Him flogged. And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and placed it on His head, and put a purple cloak on Him;
and they repeatedly came up to Him and said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and slapped Him in the face again and again.”
As Lord, He could have ended what was happening to Him, but He endured it as Jesus the Man. Make no mistake about it. Jesus experienced the same agony you and I would have faced if we had been hanging on that Cross.
As a matter of fact, Jesus’s agony was worse because He was all alone.
Matthew 27:46 “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “eli, eli, lema sabaktanei?” that is, “my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?””
When Jesus was hanging on the Cross, He was separated from God, and I wished I had the time to fully explain what the meant. Why was He separated from God? Because Jesus was hanging there as man. Jesus was bearing the sins of mankind, and that separated Him from God. For the first and only time, Jesus was separated from God the Father.
Jesus knew it would happen.
Matthew 26:39 “And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.””
Jesus did not fear the Cross. He did not want to taste the awful taste of sin, and He dread the thought of being separated from His Father. Jesus, even prayed, before He faced the Cross that the separation from God would not last, and that is glory would return.
John 17:5And now You, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world existed.”
Jesus died as Man.
Mark 15:37–39 “But Jesus let out a loud cry, and died. And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who was standing right in front of Him, saw that He died in this way, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!””
Romans 8:32 “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?”
What did God deliver Jesus over to? DEATH.
Jesus had to die as a man for man. He is our great daysman.
Job 9:32–33 “For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, And we should come together in judgment. Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, That might lay his hand upon us both.”
Jesus suffered death for you and me, so that He could comfort and reassure us when we face death. Because He died and because He was resurrected, Jesus never leaves us nor forsakes us.
He was tempted, He suffered, and He died, and He endured that for you. He is God. He is Man. He is Jesus.

3. Jesus is the Christ.

Christ means anointed one.
It is Christ who is the anointed Messiah of Israel and the anointed Savior of mankind.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Luke 1:30–32 “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:”
Christ is the Messiah of Israel. He will rule from the throne of David. Israel rejects Him today, and they rejected Him while He walked this earth, but one day, they will recognize Him as Messiah and will weep for what they did to Him in the past and throughout the ages.
Zechariah 12:10 “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, The spirit of grace and of supplications: And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, And they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, And shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”
Christ means anointed as Savior.
Luke 2:11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
That baby in the manger was the anointed Messiah of Israel and the anointed Savior of mankind.
Dear friend, He is not just Jesus. He is not just Lord. He is not just Christ. He is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is God. He is Man. He is the Anointed One, and you cannot be saved apart from that declaration.
Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Acts 16:31 “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
1 John 4:2–3 “Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”
Dear friend, if you want to be saved, you have to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. As Lord, He is God. As Jesus, He is Man. As Christ, He is Savior, the Anointed One through which all mankind can be redeemed.
Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
The name under heaven by which mean are saved is the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Easter is when reflect on the Resurrection. Christmas is when we reflect on the birth of Jesus. Unfortunately, that’s where the discussion ends in many homes, including Christian homes as children know more about the Easter bunny and Santa Clause than they do the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is time as Christians that we proclaim who Jesus is, and it is time we do not share our holidays that are designed to honor who He is with the pagan world.
If you are not saved, all you have to do is believe that Jesus is God as evidenced by His Resurrection. You have to believe that Jesus, as man, died for your sins. You have to believe in the Christ as the only One who can save you. Will you please do that today?
