Where is Your Hope?

We are called to be able to give a defense for the hope that is in us.
1 Peter 3:15 “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,”
If our hope is in things of this world, we have no hope at all.
1 Corinthians 15:19 “If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.”

We Need a Living Hope

Our only hope is for someone to take the punishment we deserve and give us their righteousness.
See 1 Corinthians 15:1-4...
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Our only hope is to have a Savior who has conquered death and the grave.
Romans 4:25 “who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”
Revelation 1:17–18 “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.”
Our only hope is to have a Savior that always live to intercede for us.
Hebrews 7:25 “Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”
Our only hope is to have a Savior that keeps us no matter what.
John 6:37 “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.”
See John 10:27–29...

We Must Set All of Our Hope on Christ

We only have hope if we repent of our sins and believe in Christ to save us.
See Ephesians 2:8-9 and Mark 1:15...
1 Peter 1:13 “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
To believe in Christ is to have a hope that can never be taken away.
John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
Romans 5:10 “For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.”
