LET’S PRAY
Prayer: Father we thank You for Your grace and love toward us. We pray that we would be filled with Your Spirit, Your strength and Your power, so that we can walk in all that You have called us to. We ask Your Holy Spirit to bring revelation of Your word that we can apply it to our lives and live it out. Father bless Your people in Jesus name. Amen
INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
Today is resurrection Sunday, for us we have Hindsight, so we know Jesus rose on the third day. But for those back at that time, three days earlier, felt that all hope was gone. But today I'm here to share with us, Jesus is alive, the stone is rolled away and the tomb is empty. Yes that's right Jesus is alive, stone is rolled away and the tomb is empty. This means so much more to us then we really know or understand.
It is in our accepting Christ into our hearts, repenting of our sin that we are forgiven. Not only are we forgiven but we have been given the power to overcome, we are a new creation and death has no power over us. Through Christ, our lives have been turned around. It is no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me.
Gods plan for our redemption was completed. Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death hell and the grave. Because of this we can walk in all that God has planned for our lives. We have so many benefits because of the empty tomb and Jesus victory over death.
Today as we celebrate our risen King, we will look at some of those benefits given to us. Remember Jesus last words on the cross: “It is finished” (meaning that He had completed what prophecy had said. That the Christ would come, He would die on a cross and He would rise again in three days).
The bible tells us that the ransom was paid in full.
This helps us form our belief in Jesus Christ and accept Him in our hearts.
This is the true reason we celebrate Easter.
He is risen
He is risen
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
So today we are going to take a look at some of those benefits, I would like us to contemplate within ourself if we are appropriating these things in our lives.
Four benefits of the empty tomb
Four benefits of the empty tomb
Our sins are forgiven,
We can overcome through Christ,
We are a new creation and
Death has no power over us.
Let start with the first benefit.
Benefit 1
Benefit 1
Our sins are forgiven.
Our sins are forgiven.
God predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself.
5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
God had predestine our redemption through His Son Jesus.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
When we repent and ask Christ to come into our lives we are forgiven.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
There is only one way to be saved. Through Jesus Christ. You may not have had the chance to ask Jesus into your heart, there will be an opportunity at the end of this service for you to do this.
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Benefit 2
We can and do overcome through Christ.
We can and do overcome through Christ.
There is nothing to great for us that we cannot overcome.
What is your situation? What problems are you facing / going through right now, what is robbing you and taking your focus?
We put limitations on ourselves, but Christ makes the difference.
Remember
Remember
When we are weak He is strong - 2Corinthians 12:9 my grace is sufficient for you, it is the power of Christ in us that helps us overcome all circumstances.
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
More than conquers Romans 8:37-39
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2. We can and do overcome through Christ.

Benefit 3
Benefit 3
We are a new creation.
We are a new creation.
He makes all things new. When Jesus Christ came out of the tomb He came with power.
If you are in Christ, If you have asked Him into your heart, to be Lord of your life, then the old is gone. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come.
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Do not be conformed be transformed Don’t let the world squeeze you into its own mould, but let God remake you so that your whole attitude of mind is changed. Thus you will prove in practice that the will of God is good, acceptable to him and perfect.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Remember: By the way we live, the world will know that Jesus has conquered the grave.
It is no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me.
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
3. We are a new creation.

Death has no power over us.
Death has no power over us.
10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
We have eternal life
Oh death were is your sting
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26 NLT)
25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. 26 Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”
4. Death has no power over us.

5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
