What is Good Friday?

Good Friday is the day that many Christians gather to remember and celebrate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Despite this being a somber reason to gather we have given it the adjective, “Good.” Why is that?
It is called Good Friday because Jesus Christ, our skull-crushing Savior, the eternal King who descended from David, went to war for the Name of YAHWEH and for his people. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, he drank down the cup of God’s wrath for all the Father elected and that the Spirit would regenerate; Christ took our debt of sin and traded his righteous robes that cover us, giving us the legal standing that Christ earned. Jesus Christ is Immanuel, God with us, and he is the Lamb of God who was sacrificed on a wooden altar to make atonement for the sins of his people.
I ask again, why is the day good? It is good because Jesus’ crucifixion was the decisive victory over Satan, sin, death, and hell; as a result, all those who believe in Christ and walk after him in this life have everlasting life and resplendent glory awaiting us in the consummation. In short, good Friday is good because it was the Seed of the woman’s act of crushing the head of the serpent, guaranteeing our salvation and the in-process restoration of earth becoming the Garden Temple that it was made to be.

Read Leviticus 17:5-6, 11, 14

Read Leviticus 16:29-34

What are the things stated to be cleansed?
The holy sanctuary, the tent of meeting, and the altar
The high priest
All Israel
Elsewhere we are told the land also has been defiled but it is not mentioned here; I believe this is because, in the consummation, there will not be any portion of the earth that isn’t the Garden temple and it would all be inclusive of the three aspects of the place of worship and communion with YAHWEH

Communion Homily

Leviticus 16:6-10; 20-22
Goats:
Sin offering; Christ is the one who died in our stead
Scape Goat (expiation); sins removed as far as the east is from the west because of Christ. You may be tempted to think this goat is us, but we are not removed from the presence of YAHWEH; rather, we are brought near to Him because of the removing of our sin.
