(The Love that Bears Burdens) 📖 Galatians 6:2 – “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” 🗓️ Resurrection Sunday, April 20, 2025 🕒 Duration: 30 minutes

I. INTRODUCTION – The Power of the Resurrection in Everyday Life (3–4 Minutes)

Today is Resurrection Sunday—the day we celebrate that Jesus is alive! But the real question isn’t just “Did He rise?” The real question is: “What difference does His resurrection make in our lives today?”
The resurrection is not just historical proof of Christ’s divinity. It is living power that transforms how we treat one another.
The letter to the Galatians teaches that we are called to freedom—not to indulge ourselves, but to serve one another in love (Gal. 5:13). In Galatians 6:2, Paul shows us how the power of Christ’s resurrection shapes real Christian community:
By bearing one another’s burdens, we fulfill the law of Christ.

II. SERMON BODY – 3 MAIN POINTS (22–24 Minutes)

1. The Resurrection Breaks the Power of Selfishness
📖 “Bear one another’s burdens...”
Jesus carried our heaviest burden—our sin and shame—to the cross (Isaiah 53:4–5).
His resurrection frees us from self-centered living. We no longer live for ourselves but for others in love.
Galatians 5:13 says, “Use your freedom to serve one another through love.”
🪔 Application: Resurrection people don’t say, “It’s not my problem.” They say, “Let me carry it with you.”
2. The Resurrection Empowers Us to Fulfill the Law of Christ
📖 “...and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
What is the law of Christ? It is the law of love:
“Love one another as I have loved you.” (John 13:34)
Real love carries burdens. This is not emotional sentiment—it is sacrificial service.
Romans 15:3 tells us that Christ did not please Himself, but bore our weaknesses.
🪔 Application: The power of the resurrection is revealed when we choose to carry someone’s pain, not ignore it.
3. The Resurrection Builds a Burden-Bearing Community
📖 “Bear one another’s burdens...”
Paul is addressing a church full of division, comparison, and spiritual pride (Gal. 5:26; 6:1).
Resurrection people restore others gently (Gal. 6:1) and walk humbly with a heart ready to carry, not condemn.
When we live this way, the church becomes not a place of competition—but a family of healing.
🪔 Application: A risen church is a united church, and a united church is made up of people who carry each other’s burdens.

III. CONCLUSION – A Resurrected Church Loves Deeply (3 Minutes)

Jesus didn’t just rise from the grave—He rose to raise up a people who live out His love.
Galatians 6:2 reminds us that the greatest evidence of resurrection is not just an empty tomb—but a church full of people who bear burdens together.

IV. CALL TO RESPONSE (1–2 Minutes)

Today, ask yourself:
Who is carrying a heavy burden around you?
Will you be the hands and heart of Jesus to carry it with them this week?
🕊️ Let’s commit to be a resurrection-powered church—not only on Easter Sunday, but every day.

✨ Closing Verse
