Who Will Roll Away the Stone

The ladies had a problem regarding their honoring Jesus. They were not going to be able to get to him because a stone was preventing them from reaching Him.

God sent an angel to remove the stone. Not so Jesus could get out, but so that the ladies would be able to get in.

We too have a problem getting to Jesus. It to is a stone. It is a hard heart made of stone that needs to be removed so we can get to Jesus.

The only difference between the ladies and us is who removes the stone. The angel removed the stone so the ladies could get to Jesus. God sent His Son Jesus so we could get to Him. John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ the stone is removed from our heart through the forgiveness of our sins and salvation of our souls

Go Tell the Disciples and Peter

The angels told the ladies to go tell the disciples about the resurrection, but also said “and Peter”. Why did the angels say and Peter? Because Peter messed up and turned his back on Jesus. Even though he did this the resurrection provides a way to have relationship with Jesus even when we turn away and mess up.

Tell the story by DA Carson regarding the passover. The point of the story is that salvation is not based on success or failure of the person, it is based on the blood of the lamb!

Go Make Disciples

Jesus commissioned the disciples and us to go make disciples of Jesus. We must share the gospel and teach how to observe His commandments.

If we truly believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and it is meaningful to us then we will devote our lives to making disciples!
