The Triumphal Entry
The Triumphal Entry
The people are exited because the king has entered Jerusalem
Jesus comes into Jerusalem riding on a colt
just a Zechariah had prophesied
the people expect and want Jesus to head right for Harod’s palace and send him packing
but instead Jesus goes to the Temple
this is the feast of Passover there up to 2 million people in town for the feast
235,000 lambs are slaughtered at this feast
a yearly temple tax has to be paid
this feast is a reminder of the time in Egypt where the people killed the lamb and put his blood on the doorpost
so when the death angel passed over it did not kill the first born of the home
this lamb was a substitute for the person
Jesus is there as the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world
Jesus the lamb is our substitute
Jesus on the first day of the next week will rise again from the dead
but on this day
Jesus found in the Temple in the court of the gentiles a market place
there were tables where the money changers were
these were places where you exchanged your currency with the the temple currency
these men were as bad as the tax collectors. they would charge exorbitant amounts to exchange
the sheep and dove dealers would charge 10-20 times the amount for them
these men would pay the high priest money to be able to have a shop in the Temple
also the high priest would also get a commission of all the sales
the priests who were conducting the inspections of the lambs would also get a kick back when they rejected a lamb and the family would have to buy one from the shopkeepers
so this was a money making venture for all
except for the people coming to worship
read Luke 19 45-48
Jesus Cleanses The Temple
Jesus Cleanses The Temple
V 45-46
the court of the gentiles
the only place that the gentiles can come and worship
beyond that is the court of Jewish women
beyond that is the court of Jewish men
the court of the gentiles is bigger than a football field
there are herds of sheep and cages of doves and money changers filling this area
also others are using this area as a short cut to go through with merchandise
the sound the smells. how can anybody worship in this atmosphere
this is what makes Jesus furious with what is going on
so He passionately drives all of the merchants out of the Temple
this feast is a time for worship not a time for the high priest to rip people off
Jesus has for 3 years been preaching the Gospel
been preaching the Kingdom of Heaven
It has been a spiritual focus
you see Jesus is not only the king but He is the High Priest
in the
Order of Melchizedek
Order of Melchizedek
At the time of Jesus the High priest Annus and Caiafus were political appointments
the high priest is supposed to be in the tribe of Levi and a descendant of Aaron
the kings on the other hand are from the tribe of Judah
But Melchizedek is not a Jew. we see him in Genesis
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High.
you see here that Melchizedek was a king of Shalom/ Salem/Peace Jerusalem
But he was also a priest of the most High God
we also know that in
Yahweh has sworn and will not change His mind, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.”
as the real High Priest coming into the Temple and seeing this abomination take place
worship of Almighty God takes place here
the gentiles have no other place
what does the high Priest do
the peoples representative to God
makes an atonement for the sins of the people
he burns incense so the prayers of the people go up to God
he is a intermediary between God and the people
the priest was to be an example to the people
he was a teacher
all of these things were fulfilled in Jesus
so after Jesus cleanses the Temple what does He do?
The Great Delusion
The Great Delusion
V 47
the people were hanging on every word
they still think that Jesus is going to rule the world in peace and justice
this day of the week they still love Jesus
but by the end of the week they will be saying crucify Him
but there are others who hate Jesus and want desperately want to kill Him
V 47-48
these men don’t want the Temple cleansed
they want the revenue
the hypocrisy! they hate the tax collectors because of their greed
but these people are even worse because they are stealing from worshippers who are commanded by God to come to these feasts
these men are so bad that they want to kill the one who heals people, who frees people from demons.
it’s what we would call delusional
it’s as if satan has control of their minds
God is there with them there is nothing that He can do or say to change their minds
Let’s look at our leadership in Augusta
they are defying the federal govt in this boys who pretend they are girls so now they can play against girls in sports
the governor and democratic reps. the Maine principals association. all would rather loose millions of dollars to keep boys playing on girls teams
it’s delusional they believe that they are right in their stance
why is this?
I have watched videos of anti Trumpers being interviewed about Trumps policies and they cannot have a calm conversation . they go insane screaming and threatening
what causes this?
Islam and Hindu are supposed to be love and acceptance.
but in India the Christian is under the constant threat of bodily harm and death.
in Pakistan the Christian is also looking over their shoulders for danger
What is going on?
The world hates Jesus
Satan hates Jesus, His Church and God’s word
Satan hates the family, because God established it
God created man and woman the only 2 genders
turn to Thessalonians 2
V 9 the antichrist is going to come with the power of satan
I think that things are ramping up now for this kingdom of satan
the key to what I believe is going on in this world right now is in
V 10
Satanic deception in all things against Gos’s righteousness
V 11
God gives them a delusional mind
V 12
they took pleasure in going against God
and they will be judged accordingly
hold your finger there and go to Romans 1
start in V 18 go to end
Go back to Thes
But You
But You
we are in a God hating world. and if it weren’t for the grace of God who saved us. we would be right along side them raising our fists to God.
V 13 -14
V 15
stand firm in the Good news from Jesus
stand firm against the enemy knowing he will be judged with a righteous judgement
stand firm in spreading the gospel. because this is our Great commission from our Lord and Savior
V 16 -17
Be encouraged that Jesus is our high priest who is always interceding for us
