God is a Giver
God is a Giver
“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
“And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?
“And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,
yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
“But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!
“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’
“For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.
John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
God is a giver. He sustains life, He gives rain (Thank God for last night’s rain shower...my garden is happy this morning) He gives grace, He give peace, He gives Increase.
He also gave us ETERNAL life.
Evangelist Billy Sunday (Add photo)
“What must I do to be saved?”
B. Sunday “You are too late”
“Oh, do not say that; I would do anything or go anywhere to obtain it”
B. Sunday “I cannot help it, You are too late; for your salvation was completed many tears ago by JEsus Christ. It is a finished work. All you have to do is simply accept it.”
“You must receive it God’s way or you will not receive it at all.” John Lawrence
God is a giver. He has given us much that we do not deserve nor did we earn.
We are reaping from His blessings.
We are Benefiting from the Labor of Others
We are Benefiting from the Labor of Others
Think back to the saints of old. The builders of this church. The teachers of Sunday School. Go back to the moment of your salvation. You first preacher. Your first Sunday School teacher.
Someone taught them, so that they could teach you. (Name some of your faith heros)
This didn’t happen in a vaccuum.
“I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
Generation after generation, building and building and building. and here we are thousands of years later. Standing on the shoulders of giants.
Even though a great many men and women have come beofre us… “each man will have his own reward according to his own labor in the Lord.” John Lawrence
“What will God do in your life today that your children will praise Him for later?” SG
“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.
“Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. “For in this case the saying is true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’
“I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.”
The Principle: “Do what we can , while we can and leave the results with God.”

Our children will reap what we sow.

The rapid increase of divorce; the undermining of the dignity and sanctity of the home, which is the basis of human society.
Higher and higher taxes and the spending of public monies for free bread and circuses for the populace.
The mad craze for pleasure; sports becoming every year more exciting and more brutal.
The building of gigantic armaments when the real enemy was within, the decadence of the people.
The decay of religion. Faith fading into mere form, losing touch with life and becomeing impotent to warn and guide the people.
