Isaiah 43:1–7 (KJV)
Introduction:
Introduction:
A Hindu trader once asked a missionary in India, “What do you put on your face to make it shine?”
The missionary was puzzled—he used no special ointment or cream.
But the man insisted, “All of you who follow Jesus, you have it. I’ve seen it on many.”
That moment became a revelation.
The glow wasn't external—it was internal.
It was the radiance of the Redeemer shining through a redeemed heart.
Sadly, far too many Christians have lost that radiance.
The joy of salvation has been replaced with gloom.
We often wear our faith like a burden rather than a blessing.
But salvation isn’t something to merely endure—it’s something to enjoy.
Though Isaiah 43 primarily addresses Israel’s future restoration, there is rich spiritual application for us today.
These verses remind us of the joy that flows from understanding who we are in Christ.
Let’s rediscover how to enjoy our salvation.
I. Remember Your Past Position
I. Remember Your Past Position
If you are like me, you would like to forget your past
For some of us our past is full of sorrow and pain that we casued
Full of drugs and alcohol
and so on.
God begins by calling His people to look back
—not to be haunted, but to be humbled and hopeful.
Because it is that very past that makes the present so wonderful
(God reminds Isreal of what He has done vs.3-4)
Thank God for His love for us!
He says that He sees us as “precious”.
This word means, “to be esteemed, the hold as very valuable.”
We were of such value that He “gave” His Son to redeemed us from our sins, John 3:16.
I want you to notice three wonderful things about our past that should make us stand and shout for joy!!
A. You Have Been Redeemed
“I have redeemed thee...”
We are reminded of the heavy price paid for our freedom
John 3:16–18 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
1 Peter 1:18–19 “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”
—Revelation 1:5 “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,” ,
We are saved because some 2000 years before we were born, Christ willingly died to save you and I.
It was a heavy price that was paid for a wicked ol sinner like me
God did not have to save me, but He did
Not because of what I could offer
My righteousnesses is as filthy rags
Salvation was not an afterthought—it was God's eternal plan.
Revelation 13:8 “…. the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
Jesus didn’t just die for humanity; He died for you and I —personally, lovingly and sacrificially.
A. You Have Been Redeemed
B. You Have been Restored
“I have called thee by thy name;
When God says He called them by their “name” it implies an intimate knowledge of who they were.
The naming reveals knowing.
He knows us intimately and calls us personally.
It also implies that He knows what they would become.
In Scripture, when God changes a name, He’s changing a life and He is changing their character
The same is true with us.
When we came to Him, we experienced a restoration, John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” ;
He takes what we give Him and when He gives it back, it is far better than it was when He got it.
Give Him a crab apple and He will give you back a golden delicious.
Give Him your acorn and He will give you back a mighty oak.
Give Him an Abram, a lost pagan, and He will give you back an Abraham, a mighty man of faith.
Give Him your Jacob, a schemer and a trickster, and He will give you back an Israel, a Prince of God and a father of many nations
Give Him your Saul of Tarsus, a mean, cruel man, and He will give you back a Paul, a mighty Apostle of God and soul winner
Give Him your Simon, a weak, vacillating man, and He will give you back a Peter, a rock for Jesus.
Give Him your broken, sin-scarred life and He will give you back a brand-new name, a brand-new nature and a home in Heaven!
What we were called
lost, children of the devil, sinners, the wicked, the children of wrath, the damned.
What we are called now
—Saints, Children of God, The Redeemed, Saved, Citizens of Heaven, etc.
When we think of what we were and what Jesus has made us, it ought to cause us to shout with joy!
A. You Have Been Redeemed
B. You Have been Restored
C. You Have Been Received
thou art mine.”
God reminds Isreal that he has taken full possession of them and they are His.
When we came to Christ, He recieved us just as we were: John 6:37 “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
At the very moment of our conversion, He took full possession of our lives
and now We belong to God
—1 Corinthians 6:20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
and by the way nothing can ever change that
Titus 2:14 “Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
Application: When we remember who we were before Christ and who we are now because of Him, it should stir joy deep within our souls. There should be no reason if you are a born again child of God, that you should not be able to shout!
I. Remember your Past Position
II. Rejoice in Your Present Provision
II. Rejoice in Your Present Provision
Here in verse 2 God reminds Isreal that just like He provided for them in the past He will do now in the present.
God is referencing some famous events in Isreal’s past when He intervened and provided.
Each one illustrates that….
A. The Lord Walks with Us
Pass Through the waters (Red Sea – Exodus 14), Walking with us through the battles of Life and slaying our enimies wither physical or spiritual
Pass through the river (Jordan – Joshua 3), [crossing over Jordon into Cannan Land] Taking us into the victorious Christian Life
Walk through the fire (Furnace – Daniel 3), Walks with us when times are tuff and it feels like the pressures of life are about to consume us.
God promises His abiding presence.
Just as Ireal could count on Him
We can count on Him aswell.
I am the Lord your God and I change not!!
A. The Lord Walks with Us
B. The Lord Works in Us
He doesn’t just deliver once—He continually provides:
Just as He worked for the daily provision of the Isrealites, He works in our lives daily to provide and protect.
This reminds us of four things that should make us stand and shout this morning…
He is Able – Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
He was able to cloth Isreal for forty years
He was able to feed them Manna in the wilderness (daily provision of 240 boxcars)
He was able to feed a widow woman and Elijiah for 3.5 years
So dont you tink He is able to provide for you?
He is Willing – Luke 12:32 – “It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
God wants to meet your need more then you want Him to.
Take a listen to these words from Matthews account
Matthew 6:25–33 “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly father knoweth that ye need of all these things…”
He is Faithful –Lamentations 3:22–23 “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
He is Present – Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Whatever your need this morning, God stands ready, willing and able to take care of it.
We can enjoy our salvation when we learn we can rejoice in our present provision
Application: Worry dies where faith lives. When we trust God to provide, joy fills the soul.
III. Rest in the Promise of a Glorious Future
III. Rest in the Promise of a Glorious Future
In these three verses, God reminds Isreal that they have a bright future.
He promises to gather them all together and reestablish them in the promise land.
This will become a reality in the millennium
Isreal will once again rest in peace and will occupy all that is theirs
What a day that will be for them.
Though written of Israel, this mirrors our coming hope:
A. A Future Gathering
“I will bring thy seed from the east…”
One day, the eastern skys will open and there will be a great shout and the trump of God will sound
1 Corinthians 15:51–52 “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
– Christ is preparing a place for us. John 14:1–3 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
In light of this we should be shouting right now
But I must ask you four qouestions that I want you to be honest with yourself.
Are you:
Ready?
– Matthew 24:44 “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
Watching?
– Luke 12:37 “Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.”
Witnessing?
– Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Pure? – 1 John 3:3 “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
You dont want to get caught sleeping when the bride groom comes
A. A Future Gathering
B. A Future Glory
“Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory…”
B. A Future Glory
i. We are bound for glory.
We are heaven bound with the hammer down
– Romans 8:18 “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
B. A Future Glory
i. We are bound for glory.
ii. We will be glorified
There are some on this earth that got the good side of the looks DNA
But hey, look up here
there is coming a day that we all going to look radient
– 1 John 3:2 “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”
B. A Future Glory
i. We are bound for glory.
ii. We will be glorified
iii. We will see Him and serve Him
Our world is filled with troubles and trials, depressions and doubts
Heaven however, will be a place of endless praise and worship of the only worthy God.
– Revelation 4:10–11 “The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
Heaven will not be dull—it will be dazzling with God’s glory, and we will shine with Him forever.
We will worship Him forever
Application: The best is yet to come! That truth should bring unshakable joy.
I dont know why I am still the only one shouting this morning
You say will preacher I just dont think you should show emotion in church
well bless your heart
there is coming a day that shouting and praise will all you will do
so why not practise now?
Conclusion:
Conclusion:

God rescued us from our past.
God resides with us in the present.

It is the greatest blessing!
When we look behind us, we see grace.
When we look around us, we see provision.
When we look ahead, we see glory.

The God who redeemed you, walks with you, and has prepared a place for you so..
