Exodus 12:7-13

1 Corinthians 10:11 “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.”
Romans 15:4 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” Israel was about to be delivered from Egypt. The last plague—death of the firstborn—was coming. But you could escape the judgment of the plague if you heeded the message about the blood. The instructions included slaying a lamb (a type of Christ) and putting the blood on the door posts (a type of the cross).
Here are the BLESSINGS of the Blood

I. The Prominence of the Blood.

"The blood"
Occurs 447 times
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

II. The Protection of the Blood.

"When I see the blood, I will pass over you" It did not matter if you were popular or held a high position among the people. What mattered was the blood being applied to your door posts. 1 Peter 1:18-19 18   Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19   But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

III. The Place of the Blood.

"The blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are." The blood must be on the house "where ye are" if you were to be protected. Being on a neighbor's house did not save you. Others may be saved, but that does not save you. Unless you personally put your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, you will not be saved.

IV. The Power of the Blood.

"When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you." No power is so great as the power of the blood which can stop Divine judgment. Egypt had great and mighty armies, but they were no match for God. But the blood had the power to stop Divine judgment.The blood of Christ still does.
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
