✨ Introduction: Is Your Faith a Sunday-Only Thing?

Let me ask you something real:
If someone looked at your life from Monday to Saturday—would they know you follow Jesus?
It’s easy to show up for youth group and act spiritual. But what about when:
There’s drama at school?
You’re hanging out with friends who don’t care about God?
You’re annoyed or stressed at home?
Some of us treat faith like a phone app—open it when we need it, swipe it away when we don’t.
But your faith wasn’t meant to be something you visit when it’s convenient. It’s meant to shape everything.

🎨 Intro Tie-In: Braelon and the Thunder

Let me give you a perfect example.
You all know Braelon. You don’t have to wonder who his favorite NBA team is—it’s the Oklahoma City Thunder.
And it’s not just because he wears a jersey once in a while. It’s how he lives. He knows the roster. He follows the stats. He can talk about past players, game plays, rival teams—you name it.
He doesn’t just “like” the Thunder.
He represents them. Every day.
You don’t have to ask if he’s a fan—you just know.
Now think about this:
What if we followed Jesus the same way Braelon follows the Thunder?
What if your faith wasn’t something you just showed up with on Sundays—but something that showed up in how you live, what you talk about, how you treat people, and how you carry yourself when no one’s watching?

♻ Bridge to Message

That’s what this message is about:
Taking your faith out of the “Sunday box” and learning how to live it out every day. Because Jesus doesn’t just want your belief—He wants your life.
And the way you live might be the only Bible some people ever read.

🌟 Point 1: Faith Is More Than Belief—It’s a Lifestyle

So let’s flip that back on us:
If someone had to guess what mattered most to you—based on how you talk, how you act, how you treat people—what would they say you follow?
Because here’s the deal:
Faith isn’t just believing something. It’s becoming someone. Someone who reflects Jesus—not just in church, but in every conversation, every decision, every day.
That’s exactly what Paul was getting at when he wrote this in Colossians. He was writing to people who already believed in Jesus—but needed to be reminded to live like it.
Let’s check it out.
Colossians 3:17 ESV
17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Paraphrase: "Whatever you're doing—talking, acting, texting, hanging out—do it like you're representing Jesus in all of it."
Paul says that our words and deeds should reflect Jesus in everything. That means your tone with your siblings. The stuff you post online. How you treat the kid no one else sits with. It means you don’t just act Christian—you live Christ.
You don’t need a cross necklace or a verse in your bio to prove you love Jesus. The way you walk, talk, and love people should show it.

🔹 Modern Example:

Some people don’t need a Nike logo for you to know they’re about gym life. They live it. They show up. They talk about it. You know because it’s part of them.
Faith should be like that too.

🤝 Story: The Quiet Christian Girl

There was this girl who didn’t preach or post Scripture all day. But she was consistent. Kind. Honest. Always had a calm spirit and made people feel seen. One day someone asked her, “Why are you like this?” And all she said was, “Because I follow Jesus.”
That simple answer opened a door to someone discovering Jesus for themselves—because she lived it out first.

✋ Ask Them:

What would people say you live for based on how you act?
Is there a part of your life where your actions and your beliefs don’t match?

♻️ Bridge to Point 2:

So let’s say you’re doing it.
You’re actually starting to live your faith—letting Jesus shape your actions, your choices, your attitude. You’re making small decisions every day to represent Him.
Here’s what’s going to happen next:
People are going to notice.
They’re going to see something different in the way you talk. The way you treat people. The way you carry yourself when things get hard.
And at some point, someone’s going to ask:
“Why are you like this?”
“Why didn’t you go off like everybody else?”
“Why are you actually nice to people who are rude to you?”
That’s your moment. Not to preach—but to share.
Because living out your faith opens the door to speaking your faith.
And that’s exactly what Peter was writing about.

🗣 Point 2: Living Faith Out Loud

1 Peter 3:15 ESV
15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
Paraphrase: "Make Jesus the center of your heart. Be ready to explain why you have hope—why you live the way you do. And when you talk about it, don’t be harsh. Be kind. Be real. Be respectful."
Peter reminds us: people are going to ask. So be ready. Not with perfect words or memorized verses. Just be ready to be real.
Don’t be fake. Don’t be preachy. Don’t argue.
Just say: "This is who I am because of Jesus."

🎨 Illustration: The Broken Flashlight

Imagine someone is stumbling in the dark. Their flashlight is dead. You have one that works. Wouldn’t it be cruel to say nothing?
That’s what it’s like when someone is struggling and you have the hope of Jesus—but stay silent.

💬 Story: The Hallway Question That Hit Different

One of the students in your group had a rough week. Another kid noticed and said, “You’re chill for someone with so much going on.”
He shrugged and said, “Honestly? I’ve been praying about it. I know God’s got me.”
Two days later that other student texted: “When you pray... how do you do that?”
That’s it. Just being real.

✋ Ask Them:

Has anyone ever asked you about your faith?
If they did, would you be ready?

♻ Transition to Application:

So now you know what it looks like to live your faith and speak it with honesty.
But let’s be real:
Knowing it and doing it are two different things.
So how do we actually start living this out? How do we go from hearing this message to doing something about it tomorrow?

🔧 Practical Applications

✅ 1. Choose Jesus in Small Moments

In your thoughts. In your responses. In your posts. Ask: What would Jesus want me to do here?

✅ 2. Speak Up Once This Week

When the opportunity shows up, say something. A kind word. A mention of your faith. An honest answer when someone asks how you're doing.

✅ 3. Serve Someone Without Credit

Pick one thing this week where you do something for someone with zero benefit to you. Show Jesus through your actions.

🔄 Tie-In: What’s the Point of All This?

The world isn’t looking for perfect Christians. They’re looking for real ones.
You might be the only glimpse of Jesus someone gets this week. So what story is your life telling?

🌟 Conclusion: What Story Is Your Life Telling?

Every day, your life is telling a story. Does it tell the truth about who Jesus is?
Are you hiding your faith? Are you ready to live it out?
Is it time to realign how you're walking with who you say you're following?
Tonight is your opportunity to realign.
