Main Verse:
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” — Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
1. Transformation of Heart, Not Transformation of Mood
1. Transformation of Heart, Not Transformation of Mood
Scripture:
Explanation:
True righteousness begins from within.
It is not about changing outward behavior temporarily based on mood or emotion but about a permanent change of heart, guided by the Spirit of God.
Example from the Bible:
Saul vs. David
Saul: Led by emotions, pride, and circumstances. His mood changed when the crowd praised David, showing no real transformation of heart. (1 Samuel 18:6–9)
David: Even after sin, he repented with a broken heart (Psalm 51) — a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14).
2. Pursuing Righteousness Constantly, Not Electively
2. Pursuing Righteousness Constantly, Not Electively
Scripture:
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” —
Matthew 5:6
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” —
Galatians 6:9
Explanation:
A righteous Christian does not choose when to be holy based on convenience. Pursuing righteousness is a daily walk, not an occasional event.
Example from the Bible:
Daniel
Prayed consistently even when it meant facing the lion’s den (Daniel 6:10).
He did not compromise righteousness to fit into the culture of Babylon.
3. Repented Christian, Not Hypocrite Christian(पश्चात्ताप गर्ने ख्रीष्टियन, न कि ढोंगी ख्रीष्टियन)
3. Repented Christian, Not Hypocrite Christian(पश्चात्ताप गर्ने ख्रीष्टियन, न कि ढोंगी ख्रीष्टियन)
Scripture:
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.” —
Acts 3:19
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.” —
Matthew 23:25
Explanation:
A righteous Christian is not perfect, but one who lives a life of continual repentance. Hypocrisy is pretending to be righteous without the inner change of heart and lifestyle.
Example from the Bible:
Peter vs. Judas
Peter: Denied Jesus, but repented with bitter tears and was restored (Luke 22:62; John 21:15–19).
Judas: Had remorse but not true repentance—his end was destruction (Matthew 27:3–5).
Conclusion:
A righteous Christian is not someone who merely behaves well outwardly but someone who has undergone heart transformation, pursues righteousness consistently,
lives a repentant life rather than a hypocritical one. Let us strive to live in the righteousness of Christ, not by our strength, but by His Spirit.
