Manpreet Singh, 33, of Kokomo, passed away on Friday April 18, 2025, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born on November 26, 1991, in Punjab, India, son of Kulwinder (colewinder) Singh and Satwant Kaur.
Manny grew up in India but came to the states around 10 years ago with the dreams of making a better life for himself and fresh start. He was a dreamer and always had big plans. He was a hardworking guy who wanted to make something of himself.
On June 27, 2018, he married Melissa Duncan in Kokomo. They meet as Manny worked at the gas station and he always was trying to talk to Melissa and eventually the two fell for each other.
On of the great joy of Manny’s life was being a father. His children “Pari” , Mason , Zayden , and Ellianna were the great love and joy of his life. He loved his kids and loved to be with them and sometimes just even loved to hold them close. He tried to work hard to provide for them. Hope that they could have an even better life then he had. Manny loved to spend time with his children and traveling to Chicago and New York City. He enjoyed going to the beach and getting together with family and friends.
He owned and operated Zaika Indian Cuisine in Kokomo. Manny was a chef and enjoyed trying new recipes especially different kinds of Indian cuisine, he loved that he could cook indian food even in ways that would be distinctive for people from different areas.
Manny was the type of person who always wanted to help others. If he would see someone down on their luck he wanted to help, even being the type to turn around while drive to give to someone in need asking for help. Or he especially loved help new people who had come her from India make the adjustment and figure out the ropes. I know some of that came from his friends Rick and Muchi who welcomed here in Indiana and he had a lot for respect and gratitude towards for their kindess.
While we are left with many questions and tears…may we know Manny’s life mattered and will never be forgotten.
Part of today is allowing ourselves to be honest with God about grief, frustrations, and even anger. The really great news is that He is not afraid of the feelings we have. In fact in the midst of our pain He gives us the gift of His presence and understanding. He also gives us his word to bring us comfort and direction.
PSalm

18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted

and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Matthew

4 Blessed are those who mourn,

for they will be comforted.

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:10‬ ‭
Psalm

26 My flesh and my heart may fail,

but God is the strength of my heart

and my portion forever.

I believe that with my whole heart. That will grief will be a journey. One we wouldn't choose and will not like, we can take comfort in the fact that you don’t face it alone. We have a Refuge in God, ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46:1-3, 10‬ ‭
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! Interlude “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
John

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

I believe that is one of the greatest desires God has for you today, that you would find peace. That you would find peace in this world and that you would be with Him in the next.
Tell the story of hagar and “the God who sees me”
Romans

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
John‬ ‭14:1-3‬ ‭
Again this is for all people. This is a generous love. And its a love that casts out all fear.
John 3:16-17

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (Psalm 23)
A Psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside cquiet waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the cpaths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
