What we’ve been talking about…

How did Jesus cast out demons? with His word
How did Jesus overcome satan when tempted? With the Word of God…”It is written”
When Jesus calmed the storm, what did He use? His words
Every time Jesus fought or did something for God’s glory He used God’s word.
How do we get saved? “by confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord”
God made it easy for us to win every time…That is using His words.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful

“Hold Fast” - grip it tightly, refuse to let go, and remain firmly committed no matter what comes
“Confession” - to say the same thing or agreement, acknowledgement
In other words, refuse to let go of your agreement with God. Stay committed to saying the same thing that God says.
So, does what we confess matter? Does what we say show who we agree with? Who are you agreeing with? God or the devil?

This is God’s solution

(Point #1)Before you can consistently change what you say, you have to change what you love

Notice how it says “those who love it”
"Those who love it" refers to people who love to talk—those who consistently use their tongue, whether wisely or foolishly.
What you confess starts with what you give place to in your heart
Your fruitfulness is determined by what is occupying your heart
The Bible says:

Keep your heart with all diligence,

For out of it spring the issues of life.

You cannot love something unless your heart is involved
The heart is the center of a person’s will, emotions, desires, and choices.
When you want something to really change in your life, you gotta go to the root, that is, your heart.
