Introduction- Brother’s Gonna Work It Out

Song by Willie Hutch written in 1973
You really don't understand do you? Hey man don't you realize in order for us to make this thing work man we've got to get rid of the pimps and the pushers and the prostitutes and then start all over again clean.
Yeah but nobody's pushing me anywhere ok. I mean not you, not the cops, nobody man. I mean you wanna get rid of the pushers I'll help you. But don't send your people left to me."
Oh come on John, can't you see that we can't get rid of one without getting rid of the other. We gotta come down on both of them at the same time in order for this whole thing to work for the people."
Yeah but nobody's closing me out of my business
We brothers gonna work it out We brothers gonna work it out

In 2017, providing commentary of this song, DJ Booth said:

"Brother's Gonna Work It Out" by Willie Hutch is a call for black unity, urging listeners to find a way to resolve their differences and work together for a common goal.

The Psychology of Reconciliation: Remorse and Forgiveness
Life has a way of presenting us with moments that test the strength and resilience of our relationships. We've all experienced the aftermath of conflicts—those times when hurtful words were exchanged, trust was shattered, and connections seemed irreparably damaged. In the wake of such turmoil, the intricacies of remorse and forgiveness come to the forefront, offering a path towards healing and restoration.
Reconciliation plays a crucial role in fostering healthy and thriving relationships. It allows individuals to heal emotional wounds, rebuild trust, and restore connection.

Transition To Body- Paul’s or Our Application of 2 Corinthians 1-4

Our Guaranteed Appearance Before the Judgement Seat Of Christ

2 Corinthians 5:6–10 ESV
6 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

Our Motivation/Motive For Ministry- Our Profound Respect & Awe For Jesus Christ

2 Corinthians 5:11–15 ESV
11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience. 12 We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart. 13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.

The Love Of Christ Keeps Us From Falling Apart

2 Corinthians 5:14 ESV
14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died;

Control

to hold something together,” so that it does not fall apart but hangs together

2 Corinthians 5:16–18 ESV
16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;

Regard No One According To The Flesh

Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament based on Semantic Domains 28.1 γινώσκω; οἶδα; γνωρίζω; γνῶσις, εως

to possess information about—‘to know, to know about, to have knowledge of, to be acquainted with, acquaintance.’

But to all Who did Receive him, who Believed in His Name

John 1:12–13 ESV
12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Born Again of the Holy Spirit

John 3:5–6 ESV
5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Transformed by the Renewal Of Your Mind

Romans 12:1–2 ESV
1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Entrusted With Christ’s Message (of Reconciliation)

2 Corinthians 5:19 ESV
19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

Reconciled & Reconciliation

Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament based on Semantic Domains 40.1 καταλλάσσω; καταλλαγή, ῆς; ἀποκαταλλάσσω; συναλλάσσω

to reestablish proper friendly interpersonal relations after these have been disrupted or broken (the componential features of this series of meanings involve (1) disruption of friendly relations because of (2) presumed or real provocation, (3) overt behavior designed to remove hostility, and (4) restoration of original friendly relations)—‘to reconcile, to make things right with one another, reconciliation.’

Illustration: Reconciling our church’s checking account ledger each month
IF YOU have a checkbook and get a bank statement whose balance doesn’t agree with yours, there is a problem. There has to be reconciliation. The only way to get that reconciliation is to find out where the problem is. You have to be able to identify why those two numbers aren’t the same and where the error is. When bank balances don’t match, we don’t just throw up our hands and say, “It will all work out.” We work to find the error and fix it!
Jesus Christ is our fix to the error of sin. He came to reconcile us to God. He lived for thirty-three years to fulfill all righteousness and to bring us into balance with God’s righteousness. He did this for us because we could not do it for ourselves.750

No Longer Do I Call You Servants…

John 15:12–15 ESV
12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

Entrusting

The verb has in view here the point at which God’s transcendent decision and man’s real existence converge.

One may see from this how well adapted Paul thought the term was to express God’s action in all its multiplicity. In 2 C. 5:19 as well the word takes on its special dimension from the fact that God is the subject

Commit/Entrust (Dictionary)

to give a task, duty, or responsibility to
to put (something) into the possession or safekeeping of another

Commissioned

2 Corinthians: An Introduction and Commentary 2. God’s Reconciling Act in Christ (5:16–21)

God has not only reconciled the world to himself, he has also commissioned messengers to proclaim that good news. All who heed the call to repentance and faith will experience for themselves the joy of their reconciliation with God.
