F — Fellowship

Psalm 77:1–3 NKJV
1 I cried out to God with my voice—To God with my voice; And He gave ear to me. 2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; My soul refused to be comforted. 3 I remembered God, and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah
“I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, and He will hear me. In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying…”
“My soul refuses to be comforted…”
• The psalmist is not suffering silently; he is reaching out to God with raw honesty.
• True fellowship begins with honest connection to God and others — no pretending.
Action: Bring your real emotions to God. Stay connected even when you feel broken.

R — Remember

Psalm 77:4–6, 10–11
Psalm 77:4–6 NKJV
4 You hold my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak. 5 I have considered the days of old, The years of ancient times. 6 I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, And my spirit makes diligent search.
Psalm 77:10–11 NKJV
10 And I said, “This is my anguish; But I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High.” 11 I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
“You hold my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak…”
“I consider the days of old, the years long ago. I said, ‘Let me remember my song in the night; let me meditate in my heart.’”
“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old.”
• After pouring out pain, the psalmist makes a shift: he chooses to remember God’s past faithfulness.
Action: Choose to remember God’s goodness, even when emotions scream otherwise.

A — Ask God

Psalm 77:7–9 NKJV
7 Will the Lord cast off forever? And will He be favorable no more? 8 Has His mercy ceased forever? Has His promise failed forevermore? 9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah
“Will the Lord spurn forever, and never again be favorable? Has his steadfast love forever ceased? Are his promises at an end for all time?”
• These questions show an honest, almost desperate asking — asking if God will still come through.
• Asking doesn’t mean doubt; it means bringing your needs, fears, and hopes to God openly.
Action: Ask God boldly, even with hard questions. Trust that He welcomes your heart.

M — Meditate on God’s Works

Psalm 77:12 NKJV
12 I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds.
“I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.”
• Meditating on God’s past interventions, miracles, and acts of power refuels your faith.
• It’s not just thinking; it’s soaking your mind in His goodness.
Action: Take time to rehearse and reflect on God’s mighty works — make them personal.

E — Express (Testify)

Psalm 77:13–14 NKJV
13 Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary; Who is so great a God as our God? 14 You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples.
“Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.”
• After remembering, asking, and meditating, the psalmist moves into bold declaration.
• Testifying shifts your focus and gives others hope.
Action: Speak about what God has done — publicly, boldly, and joyfully.
