二つの道：肉の行いか聖霊の実

聖霊によって歩む

聖霊によって歩むことは心から始まります。ローマ8:5-6は説明します：「聖霊によって歩む人々は、聖霊のことを考えます。聖霊に心を向けることは、いのちと平安です。」

解決策は何でしょうか？目を上に向けることです。神との関係に焦点を合わせます。上にあるものに心を向けます。聖霊によって歩むとき、神が生み出してくださる実を経験します。

With all these holidays, it's a perfect time to think about being free. Today's message from Galatians 5:13-26 addresses what it means to be truly free in Christ.

The Freedom We've Been Given

Galatians is all about true freedom. If you ever feel bound up in life, if you feel like there are walls all around you, go to Galatians. The main message: "A person is not justified by works of the law, but through faith in Jesus Christ." Salvation is by faith alone - not faith plus something, just faith in Jesus.

Growing in Freedom, Not Works

A common question arises: "I understand I'm saved by faith alone, but how do I grow as a Christian? Don't I need to add standards, adjust my behavior, and pack my schedule with church activities?"

These are tricks we can fall for. We think we grow by doing, but we didn't get saved by doing. We grow the same way - by faith, walking with Christ in the freedom He has given us.

Walking in Freedom

Verse 13 is crucial: "You have been called to freedom, brothers." Jesus has set you free and desires that you walk daily in this freedom. He continues, "Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."

Freedom in Christ requires wisdom and responsibility. The freedom Jesus gives us isn't meant to be used for fleshly desires but to serve one another in love.

The Daily Battle: Flesh vs. Spirit

Verse 16 presents our daily reality: "Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For these are opposed to each other."

Every day, we face a choice: walk by the Spirit or walk by the flesh. This doesn't mean you're crazy - it's part of the believer's life. The key is understanding that trying harder in our own strength doesn't work. We choose the Spirit, not the flesh.

Two Paths: Works of the Flesh or Fruit of the Spirit

The flesh produces works including sexual sins, religious sins, relational sins, and self-indulgent sins. Paul warns that those who practice these things show they don't know Jesus.

But the Spirit produces fruit: love (the main fruit), joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These aren't things we manufacture - they grow naturally as we walk with the Spirit.

Walking by the Spirit

Walking by the Spirit begins in the mind. Romans 8:5-6 explains: "Those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace."

The solution? Turn your eyes upward. Focus on your relationship with God. Set your mind on things above. As you walk by the Spirit, you'll experience the fruit He produces in your life.

Conclusion
