Join me in the reading of the eighth chapter of the Book of Revelation.
1 When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. 3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.
In Chapter six of Revelation we saw the scroll’s seals being broken.
One by one they were broken up to the sixth seal.
Then as, we outlined previously, in the heptadic structure, or groups of seven in the scriptures,
We noticed that the first six seals were broken, then there was a this gap.
It lasted through chapter seven, where we learned about the 144,000 sealed saints.
Here in this chapter eight, we find that the scroll is now completely opened by the breaking of the seventh final seal.
But as soon as this seventh seal was opened, there was silence in heaven for about an half an hour.
This silence is often and correctly related I believe to the pin drop silence that usually comes before a decision happens.
Like in court,
Imagine you’re on trial for your life,
And the judge is handed the verdict.
Then while he is reading the verdict, there is pin drop silence as everyone anticipates the judgment,
Or when a Medical test comes back, and you are watching the doctor whose about to give you the results,
Reads to himself the test results, while you are hanging on by a string for the outcome.
The Lord throughout the generations from
Adam’s sin, and the ruining of His perfect creation,
Cain’s introduction of murder,
To the angels that did not keep their place leading to the creation of the Nephilim,
To the crucifixion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
He has been dealing with the world and all of our sins with long suffering and patience.
Not only were His human creation witnesses to this Patience and grace,
But so were the Angels.
In
10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
We are told that even the Angels celebrate when they saw a person get saved from the coming damnation.
I have said this before,
You and I human, have limited knowledge and limited vision.
We can only see whats in front of us.
We have 3 dimensional field of view.
We cannot see the horrors of the place of torment, the lake of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
That’s why, sadly, many of us continue to sin, or blow off the righteous requirements of living a life saved in Christ.
Week after week we pray for the lost along many others during our prayer services.
But yet, they keep putting it off or not caring.
Also, many of us professing Christians take on a non-serious expectation about truly repenting before the Lord,
That’s because they can’t truly see the reality of what awaits the non-repentant sinner in the place called hell.
But the angels can!
They can see what we humans can’t see.
So, if what they see as hell is so bad, they celebrate when one sinner comes to repentance,
Then hell is not a place I want to even dream about.
But, unfortunately for the unbelievers, that is exactly where they are going if they haven’t repented of their sins,
And fully accepted the salvation blood of Christ in their lives.
Brothers and Sisters hearing my voice, or watching my image on the screen right now,
If you haven’t truly repented, and accepted the saving blood of Christ,
Then on the authority of the words written in the bible, you too, are heading to this terrible, horrific place of torment called hell.
Many have been fooled by the enemy of your soul, that God in His loving kindness and longsuffering would never send some one He loved to a place like hell
Well, Ive got news for you,
They are right,
Spot on!
God would never send someone He loved to a place as nightmarish as hell.
The Bible tells us that these people send themselves there.
Can you believe that?
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
He has given us the road map to Heaven,
But what do people do?
They throw out the map, and decide they’ll try and find it on their own.
But they are right in their idea that God is patient and Long-suffering
Grace & Long-suffering?
Grace means to get something you didn’t deserve.
But long-suffering, what does that even mean?
It means to Suffer for a long time what ever is bugging you.
In God’s case, He is long-suffering by dealing with the sin of rebellious man kind.
Well, back to the opening scene in Chapter 8 of Revelation.
There is silence in heaven when the last seal is opened.
It is because even the angels know that God has been up to this point in history,
Long-suffering.
That all changes at the opening of the last seal.
From this point on, God’s promised wrath on the unbelieving world begins.
And the Angels will have a front row seat to watch the climax of world history
And if you are a believer, the Bible tells us that we will too.
6 So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. 7 The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
This is reminiscent of the plagues of Egypt when the rain and hail fell, repeated in Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and hail
It says a third of the trees will burn up and all of the green grass was burned up.
Many of today’s politicians are make their careers touting green new deals, and save the environment from the bad humans.
Well, they haven’t seen anything yet.
Wait until this first trumpet sounds, and a third of the trees will be gone,
That means the cost of lumber, or anything made of wood will skyrocket out of control.
The animals of the field will start dying because there will be enough grass to sustain them.
The entire ecosystem of this great planet will be interrupted and tossed into an imbalance this world has never seen.
8 Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
Then after this trumpet sounds, the ecosystem of the ocean will be destroyed, killing a third of sea, life, and destroying a third of the ships.
Completely upsetting the stock markets and commerce.
Along with a depleted navy for all the nations with ships patrolling the seas,
The merchant ships will have destroyed along with them.
If you think these new tariffs are causing a delay in shipping products from China are bad now,
We haven’t seen anything yet.
Also, can you imagine the smell that will be lining the coast lines of the earth as millions of dead carcases of sea creatures will be rotting away against the surf.
Wether this object, this verse says is like a burning mountain slamming into the sea bed, is a meteor from outer-space, or a nuclear Bomb hitting the sea bead, we don’t know.
But then a great star falls from heaven,
10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.
Again, we don’t really know what this will be.
We know it’s called Wormwood, because it will cause the water to become bitter.
There is a bitter herb called Wormwood,
It got its name by being used in the past to treat against parasites including tapeworms, pin worms, and round worms.
Some of its compounds are still found in Vapor rubs and anti-fungal medicines.

So, it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to understand how the water will be undrinkable of it has that bitterness to it.
Without enough fresh water to drink, there will be millions of deaths across the planet indiscriminate of age.
The human body can only go so long without water before succumbing to thirst.
Then things go from bad to worse.
12 Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night.
The sun and moon will be blocked out, probably due to ash in the sky from what ever it was that hit the earth.
So, the earth is filled with darkness.
That means less electricity,
More will be used us by the increased load on the power lines etc,
And the Solar panels will be all but useless as there will be more darkness than sun light needed to power them.
Now, as if that wasn’t bad enough,
These judgments are all naturally available to us today.
Meaning, the sea creatures we can see, a huge burning object slamming into the sea bed those alive will be able to see.
The natural water will taste bad, but water is familiar to all.
What comes next, begins a nose dive into the demonic realm that up to this point was only observable by the angels, and God.
13 And I looked, and I heard an angel/eagle flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!”
Woe, Woe, Woe, to the inhabitants of earth.
Remember what I said about the angels being able to see hell?
Here we have one lamenting the people of earth,
In our vocabulary today, what this angel is saying is, as we head into the ninth chapter of the Book of Revelation
“Oh boy, you really did it now, whats watch out for whats coming next”
1 Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. 3 Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
What ever these things are, I can say with certainty, that they are not from this world.
As I said, explosions on land and sea,
The earth has seen it,
Bitter water, we can understand what that may be like
But these atrocious, supernatural locusts the world has never seen.
These creatures will be hideous, with
Tails like scorpions that will sting with tremendous pain to make one wish for death
They will have faces resembling humankind with long hair and sharp gnarly teeth like a lion.
They will have body armor on to make them virtually indestructible.
They will definitely be a creature no human has ever seen something.
The God of the Bible is a loving long suffering God.
The entire volume of the Bible made up of 66 books, display the loving nature of God,
In so much as sending His only Son Jesus to die for you and I on the cross.
The Book of Revelation is the ultimate culmination of all that was written to you and I.
First to be warned, then prepared, then Saved from these terrible horrendous calamities of judgment of a God
Who has been long suffering to a very long time.
But, in this Book, it tells us what’s going to happen when that time is up!
We who hold to the futurist view believe that we can avoid this coming nightmare, by
sincerely receiving Jesus into our hearts once and for all.
Now is the time,
Wether or not things happen in this time, exactly as I have interpreted them for you today or not is beside the point.
The point is, those who don’t receive Jesus before their earthly life ends,
Have absolutely nothing good waiting for them after death.
And if you miss the coming promised Rapture of the church,
You will be around to see how accurate this interpretation was of the coming woes of the earth.
