Walking in Resurrection Power
Philippians 3:10 (NKJV)
“[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope].”
Introduction: More Than a Moment — It’s a Movement!
My Saint Thomas Baptist Church family and friends, I greet you today in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our risen and reigning Savior!  And today, I stand before you with a burning question in my spirit: Are you just talking about the resurrection… or are you truly walking in resurrection power?
Did you know that Resurrection Sunday is the most attended church service of the entire year?
But studies show that only one in three believers say the resurrection actually changes how they live. Oh yes, we’ll pack out churches to celebrate the resurrection. But are we emptying ourselves to demonstrate it?
We shout over the empty tomb, but are we walking in that same resurrection power every single day? Because hear me, my brothers and sisters: The resurrection was never meant to be just a moment we remember. It’s a movement we are called to walk in!
Paul said it best: “That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection…” And that’s what I’ve come to remind us today.
It’s not enough to celebrate an empty tomb once a year.
It’s not enough to shout over the stone being rolled away.
It’s not enough to have a Resurrection Sunday experience without a resurrection lifestyle!
No, my brothers and sisters, the resurrection wasn’t just a moment in history.
It’s the movement of our lives! Paul’s words call us higher: resurrection power isn’t something we simply admire. It’s something we are called to walk in!
So, with the help of the Holy Spirit and the real preacher Jesus Christ please allow me to leave us with these three truths that are found in this text that will allow us to “Walk in Resurrection Power” daily and the first is this.
Walking in Resurrection Power Means Knowing Christ Personally “That I may know Him…” (Philippians 3:10a)
Paul wasn’t chasing religion—he was chasing relationship.
He didn’t want a surface-level connection; he longed for a soul-deep intimacy with Jesus Christ. Resurrection power starts with relationship.
John 17:3 says, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true [supreme and sovereign God, and [in the same manner know] Jesus [as the] Christ whom You have sent.”
And Jeremiah 9:23-24 reminds us: “Thus says the Lord, “Let not the one who is wise and skillful boast in his insight; let not the one who is mighty and powerful boast in his strength; let not the one who is rich boast in his [temporal satisfactions and earthly] abundance; 24 but let the one who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me [and acknowledges Me and honors Me as God and recognizes without any doubt], that I am the Lord who practices lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on the earth, for in these things I delight,” says the Lord.”
You can’t walk in His power if you’re not walking with His presence!
You can’t demonstrate His victory if you don’t dwell in His voice!
Question for the house: The question today is not “Do you know about Him?” The question is “Do you KNOW HIM?”
If you know He walks with you, shout yes!
If you know He talks with you, shout yes!
If you know He calls you His own, shout yes!
Somebody shout, “I know Him for myself!”
Walking in Resurrection Power Means Living in Victory Daily “…and the power of His resurrection…” (Philippians 3:10b)
The same power that rolled back that heavy stone—the same power that shook the grave—is alive inside you right now!
Romans 8:11 shouts: “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.”
And 1 John 4:4 reminds us: “Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God, and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind]!”
Victory is not an event—it’s a lifestyle.
It’s not just a Sunday feeling—it’s a Monday morning fact!
When you walk in resurrection power:
You walk in freedom, not fear. (Galatians 5:1) “It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore, keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed].”
You walk in authority, not anxiety. (Luke 10:19) “Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to
exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.”
You walk in confidence, not condemnation. (Romans 8:1) “Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior].”
Satan thought the cross was the end. But early Sunday morning, Jesus rewrote the story with resurrection power! My Saint Thomas Baptist family and friends, that same power lives in YOU!
Question: Are you living like a defeated victim… or like a victorious vessel? Because you’re not called to live defeated—you’re called to live delivered!
You’re not called to be a victim—you’re called to be a vessel of victory!
If you know you’re walking in victory, declare it right now:
“I’m not a victim—I’m a vessel of His victory!”
If He gave you power, walk like it!
If He gave you authority, speak like it!
If He gave you resurrection life, live like it!
Walking in Resurrection Power Means Enduring with Purpose “…the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.” (Philippians 3:10c)
Oh, my brothers and sisters—we love the power part…But we tend to avoid the pain part. Paul reminds us that resurrection power doesn’t mean avoiding suffering. It means enduring suffering with purpose.
(2 Corinthians 4:8-10) reminds us: “We are pressured in every way [hedged in], but not crushed; perplexed [unsure of finding a way out], but not driven to despair; 9 hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted [to stand alone]; struck down, but never destroyed; 10 always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown in our body.”
(And James 1:2-4) declares: “Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. 3 Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing.”
Sometimes resurrection power shows up when you’re crying.
Sometimes it shows up when you’re crushed but not destroyed.
Sometimes it shows up when you’re bleeding but still believing!
Resurrection power means trusting that after every cross, there’s a crown.
After every grave, there’s a garden.
After every Friday… there’s a Resurrection Sunday!
(2 Timothy 2:11-12) reminds us: “This is a faithful and trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with Him; If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He will also deny us.”
Question: Can you trust Him when you can’t trace Him? Can you praise Him when you’re still in the pain?
Because I’ve got good news for you:
After every cross, there’s a crown!
After every grave, there’s a garden!
After every Friday, there’s a resurrection Sunday!
If you believe there’s a resurrection on the other side of your suffering. Somebody shout, “Sunday’s coming!”
Conclusion: Walk It Out in Resurrection Power!
My brothers and sisters, resurrection power is not passive.
It’s not a memory—it’s a movement.
It’s not just theological—it’s transformational.
If you’re going to walk in resurrection power:
Know Him personally. (Jeremiah 29:13) “Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
Live in His victory. (1 Corinthians 15:57) “but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Endure with His strength. (Isaiah 40:31) “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.”
Don’t just talk about the resurrection!
Walk in it!
Live in it!
Breathe in it!
Move in it!
Declare it!
Because He got up—you can get up!
Because He lives—you can live victorious!
Because He reigns—you can reign over every storm and circumstance!
Walk like you’ve been raised!
Talk like you’ve been raised!
Love like you’ve been raised!
Praise like you’ve been raised!
Because you’re not fighting for victory—you’re fighting from victory!
And if Jesus got up—you can get up too!
Now go ahead and walk it out!
Walk in power!
Walk in purpose!
Walk in resurrection life!
Somebody, give God a resurrection shout right now!
Invitation to Christian Discipleship:
Beloved, today you heard about resurrection power.
But it’s not enough to just hear about it.
You’ve got to know Him for yourself.
Jesus Christ didn’t just rise from the dead to make history.
He rose to change your story.
And today, He’s standing with arms wide open —
Saying, ‘Come to Me. Let Me raise you up, too.’
If you’re tired of living life defeated,
If you’re tired of walking alone,
If you need new life, new hope, new power—
The altar is open.
Come meet the Resurrection and the Life — His name is Jesus!
Come, my brother.
Come, my sister.
Come walk in resurrection power!
