Life is in the blood. The OT Levitical law was ultimately pointing to Christ, in who's blood we have redemption of our sins and life everlasting. Therefore, we must feast on Christ by coming to him in faith and seeking him as our sole source of spiritual nourishment.

The Americas - Nature docuseries

wood frog - they can freeze themselves to survive harsh winters
a combination of glucose and urea turns their blood into anti-freeze, keeping their blood cells from freezing completely and killing them
the outer 2/3 of their body freezes over, stopping the function of all their major organs
when the temperature warm back up in the Spring, they literally defrost themselves and return to normal function
Reminded me of Leviticus 17:11For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life.”
Ephesians 1:7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,”
We have eternal life through the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But how do we find life in His blood?.......
John 6:53–54So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
What did Jesus mean here? How can we actually obey this seemingly strange teaching of Jesus?
John 6:35Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
Jesus is our spiritual food.....our spiritual nourishment.....he is the only one who gives us spiritual life!
How do we feast on Christ? How do we find spiritual nourishment in him?
This year’s theme verse Philippians 4:8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Jesus is truth
Jesus lived the most honorable life
Jesus’s life and death is the fulfillment of justice
Jesus is purely holy and without sin
Jesus is the most lovely of all
Jesus is the only one fully commendable and worthy of praise
Jesus’ example is truly excellent
Practical application...… ask the kids......
So think about Jesus......
Talk with him......
Pray to him.......
Read his word.......
Sing songs of praise to him.......
Fellowship with his body (his people/the church).......
This is how we come to find life in Christ......this is how we feast on Christ. And when we find life in the blood of Jesus, we can be like those wood frogs and endure and survive through the harshest and most difficult times of life. And when those harsh times pass, we can continue on and live and thrive through our relationship with Jesus.
