Opening Scripture:

Titus 2:11–12 NLT
For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,
The Grace of God that has been revealed is in the person and sacrifice of Jesus through His ministry and death and resurrection
Jesus paid the price to reconcile the entire world to the Father —- He was the first born among many — Through Jesus we have true salvation!
Apart of accepting God’s grace is stepping into transformation through Jesus
In order for me to step into and walk in Transformation I must be willing to turn completely from godless living and strive to adopt a life of righteousness.
Righteousness and true transformation is only acquired when we fully surrender our heart and soul completely over to the Lord giving Him complete Lordship over our lives.
As I completely surrender I have to constantly find opportunities to put His word to work in my life daily and as we do that He will reveal to us through the Holy Spirit what we need to put to death daily
Even when we completely surrender our hearts and lives completely over to Jesus giving Him complete Lordship over our lives the enemy will still try to tempt us and get us to turn away from God’s gift of grace and continue to live a life of Sin.
As we continue to walk in a corrupt and evil world we must position ourselves even more in the presence of God through developing a foundational relationship with Jesus.
The more we stay connected to Jesus and the Father I posture myself to grow in wisdom.
The more we stay rooted in God’s word and allow the Spirit of God teach us and show us which paths to take in life and convict us when we error we grow in our devotion to our heavenly Father.
If we aren’t submitted unto Jesus then what are we submitted to?

Spirit Led, NOT Fear Fed

2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
Often times we get discouraged because of a range of circumstances that we have found ourselves coming up against in life
The enemy tries to plant seeds of fear in our lives by getting us disconnected from God’s presence (through His word and prayer)
The enemy will try to twist scripture and take it out of its context in order to deceive you into believing that its ok to continue to live your life of sin and stead of continuing to grow in grace daily.
The more we alienate ourselves from God’s presence the more room we give the enemy to plant seeds of doubt into our lives as well..
God is BIG enough to over come our doubts
God is BIG enough to meet every need
It’s in the waiting season that we loose faith.. It’s in the waiting season that we are attacked the most
God positions us in the waiting season when He is preparing us for something BIG!
The Israelites became fearful because moses was on mount sinai with God longer then normal
Israels fear lead them to Sin against God by creating an Idol in the form of a golden calf
Don’t let your fear cause you to worship an idol
Don’t let your fear hinder your faith
Our Faith positions us in a place to over come Fear!
We defeat fear by believing the word of God and declaring it over our lives, over our situation, over our circumstances!
What are you Feeding your Spirit?

Controlled by What You Crave

2 Peter 2:19 NLT
They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.
Peter was referring to False teachers and people who try to manipulate the church
When we choose to live in sin instead of grace we then become controlled by our Sinful nature and desires
Our Flesh can only crave worldly things this is why we must die to ourselves daily… completely letting go of our sinful desires that could never honor God.
When we grow in our relationship with Jesus our desires change — BUT even as our desires change and our focus shifts the enemy will still try to trip us up
There will be moments where we may fall backwards and give into temptation BUT as God convicts us through His word and His Spirit we MUST give to Him through confession in prayer and leave it at the altar and turn away from it
If Jesus does not have Lordship over our lives then sin and the enemy does.
We break the chains of Sin by acknowledging the bonds of addiction
We often times try to hide our addictions because it causes us to feel ashamed or humiliated
BUT when we stop trying to hide from ourselves and God what we are struggling with and completely surrender it over to Him we allow God to place us upon the foundation of true freedom and victory through Jesus.
We can’t serve both God and Sin we have to choose either or!

Don’t Sleep on The Roar

1 Peter 5:8 NLT
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
The enemy is always looking for ways to attack God’s people
The first people that he targets is though who are not in God’s word and in prayer — this is why we need to make being in God’s word and prayer a daily habit so that we do not give the enemy a foot hold over us
We often times sleep on the roar… meaning because we become so distracted we miss the opportunity to hear the warnings from God.
Often times we become so distracted spiritually that we don’t even realize that we are sinning against God
BUT when we choose to stay alert by prayer, fasting, reading and applying God’s word to our lives daily we are always equipped ready to take on any battle that comes across our path.
Self control is all about realizing that we have authroity over sin and no longer have to be bound by it
Self control is all about trusting in the Lord and allowing Him to order our steps daily
Self control is all about fully submitting yourself to God’s will and building/growing your relationship with Him.
Are you ready to live in true freedom? Are you willing to give God your WHOLE heart?
