Introduction

There is a movie called “home team.”  It stars Kevin James, and he’s a suspended NFL football coach that spends his suspension coaching his son’s youth league football team.  And this team is bad, so bad that for the entire season the games end early and the score board gets turned off because of a mercy rule.  The rule is if a team is loosing by 40 points the game is over.  In one game they finished the game and the score board stayed on.  They lost 40-6, but to them it was a win.  Because they had the right perspective.  For them finishing the game was a win.
Today we aren’t talking about pretending that a loss is really a win. However, keeping the proper perspective in dealing with suffering and hard times, can be a tool to demonstrate the work of the Spirit in our lives.

Conclusion

As we’ve seen, Paul has his perspective on Christ, and what he can do through his circumstances.  How can our life be a testimony to the faithfulness of God?  How can we as believers reflect a Christ focused prespective when dealing with difficult People?  Paul’s boldness inspired others, and lead people to Christ.  By keeping our focus on the work of the Gospel and of the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, we can to.
