Point 1: Rooted – Stay Grounded in God
Point 1: Rooted – Stay Grounded in God
Jeremiah 17:7–8 (ESV)
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.
8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
The world ahead is uncertain: college, careers, relationships, identity.
The only way to withstand the “heat” and “drought” of life is to be deeply rooted in God.
Encourage daily time in the Word, prayer, and Christ-centered community.
Our fruitfulness in life flows from our rootedness in Him.
Illustration: A tree with shallow roots may look strong—but the first storm will test its foundation
Point 2: Ready – Trust God with the Unknown
Point 2: Ready – Trust God with the Unknown
Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Graduates don’t need to have every answer—they need to know where to turn.
Trusting God means surrendering plans, fears, and even timelines.
Readiness isn’t about being perfect; it’s about walking closely with the One who is.
Application: Are you seeking God’s direction, or leaning on your own limited understanding?
Point 3: Released – Be a Light to the World
Point 3: Released – Be a Light to the World
Matthew 5:14–16 (ESV)
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Graduation isn’t just a finish line—it’s a launching pad.
The world doesn’t just need smart, skilled people—it needs people full of light.
Their words, kindness, integrity, and faith can point others to Christ.
Closing Charge: You’re not just being celebrated—you’re being sent. Be rooted in Him, ready to trust Him, and released to shine for Him.
