Genesis 12:1–5 “1 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” 4 So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. 5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan.”

Are You Ready To Move?

I have been led by God to talk about Are you ready to Move? When God first gave this message or topic to me I was wondering well God what is the move about? And why do I or we need move? I am pretty settled now I have a nice home, a good job a great church family I mean everything looks like it’s going well for me at this stage in my life. Health is reasonably well ….. God what’s up with the move? God first showed me that there were two types of moves 1st is the act of physically going from once place to another or 2nd moving from one stage to another stage.
What I have found is that God can have you in both types at the same time. By moving from one stage to another you can also be moving your physical location at the same time. So the question came “are you ready to move?”
Many of us are content with where we are and don’t think that there is any need for change in our lives. Can I share this being CONTENT GOT US THE PRESIDENT THAT WE HAVE! The voting numbers tell us that CONTENT folks didn’t show up!
Everything just seems to be working in your favor. I come to talk you and somebody today that normally write out some new years resolutions, somebody that has said I can’t go another year with stuff still going the same way for me as it has been in the past. I want to talk some someone that has said Calgon take me away…… that’s who we need to talk to today..
Some of us have taken journeys for the sake of journey. You ask them where they are going, and they say I’m just going to take a ride. I need to let you know today that journeys for the sake of journeys ain’t a journey at all it’s a roller coaster ride. What do you mean? You get on at point A and you end up back where you just started. You’re in a bad relationship and you say I’m going to leave Johnny alone because he don’t understand me, talks to me bad and treat me wrong. You say I just got to leave Johnny alone. So you leave Johnny and hook up with RayRay a distant relative of Johnny’s that treat you the same way and you’re miserable all over again. A journey for the sake of a journey is roller coaster ride.
But what I have come to realize is that God’s word has revealed that God has promised me more……more. How do I know that he has declared more for my life. Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope. God has declared more…..
Deuteronomy 28:1–6 “1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: 3 “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. 4 “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 5 “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6 “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.”
More…………. God has declared more for our lives. You may have it going on in your life, but God has declared more.... Jesus said in John 10th chapter the thief come to steal kill and destroy but I have come that you might have life more abundantly. When you look at that word abundantly in the Greek the word is
per-is-sos' which means beyond, superabundant in quantity or superior in quality.  God has declared super abundance, and superiority for those that he calls his own. Many of us are living lives as though we have no purpose and as if God has no plan for our lives. But just as he said to Jeremiah in Jeremiah chapter 1 “before I formed you in the belly, I knew you, sanctified you and ordained you to be a prophet to the nation” God is saying that same thing to you and me. He says I know, I can number the hairs on your head I know you better than you know yourself and I have a purpose and a plan for your life.
But I need to know, Are you ready to Move?
To get us ready for the journey we look at God’s call to Abraham back then Abram. He told Abram in the 1st verse of Genesis 12 to “Get thee out of thy country” God told him to go on a journey.  Getaway from everything that is familiar too you. He said Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee.

Getaway from everything that is familiar too you.

God can not make an impression on your life when you are surrounded by familiar things. God wants to get something special to you but he wants you by yourself….Get away from familiar things. We get so comfortable around all of the things that are familiar to us that we fail to exercise trust. You’ve heard it said that it’s easy to serve God when everything is going well around me, but when the situation changes or the circumstance becomes more of a challenge then I will have to exercise my trust in God to provide for me.
That’s why God said to Abram to get out of his country and go to the place I will show you. In that verse God just would have messed some of us up, First to tell us to leave my home my family and my friends, then not to even tell me where you want me to go. You’re going to tell me when we get there. God would have just messed up some of us. We could possibly get with him when he said leave my home, family and friends but to leave and have no destination…. That’s a stretch. Abram had to separate himself from his past identity to receive his new destiny.

Activate Your Faith

“faith is acting like a thing is so even when it’s not so in order that it might become so”. When God has said go we got to move even when our eyes can’t see it and our mind can’t imagine it. Much of what we know about God is not based on things that we have seen him do but on much of what we’ve read and believed through HIS word. We weren’t there we he stepped out on nothing and said let there be and it was. We weren’t there when he called light in the midst of the darkness but we believe because his word said he did it. Just like this morning when I sat over there on the chair I did go through several test to see if the chair was going to hold me I just sat down in faith. Hebrews 11 declares Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. An important part of our journey is Faith. Activate your faith. Abram activated his faith verse 4 says 4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. 5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. Abram moved at the words from God…………. You got to move…….

Stand Firm on God’s Promised Provision

We got to stand firm on God’s promised provision He will never fail. God’s promised provision to Abram in the 2nd verse 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.  God gives a seven-fold promise — He promises to bless Abram and make him a blessing. God’s promised provisions to us has been more, he came that we might have more, in Deuteronomy he declared more blessings on us. Blessed is the city, blessed in the field, blessed when we go and when we come. Jesus said in john 14:1-3 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  If you stand on God’s promised provisions then you have the right to ask anything in his name and believe that he will do it in his own time. Matthew 7:7 says Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.
So I have shared with today three things to get you ready for the journey.
First Getaway from everything that is familiar too you, then Activate your faith, and finally Stand firm on God’s promised provisions.

The Obedience in Action (Genesis 12:4–5)

“So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him…”
Abram responded with immediate obedience.
He did not have a full road map — just a trust in God’s leading.
James 2:21–24 — Faith without works is dead; Abraham’s faith was made complete by action.
Philippians 3:13–14 — Forgetting what’s behind, we press toward what is ahead.
Psalm 37:5 — “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
🔹 Faith is not just belief — it’s movement in response to God’s word.
Now one of the things that my momma used to do when we got ready to take the journey from California to Louisiana this was an annual journey for our family.  Momma would always pack us a snack for the journey. The snack would include some fried chicken, coffee, bread, lunch meat, chips and sodas, So that while we were on our journey we would not get hungry and faint along they way. Well there is a spiritual snack pack today to help us on our journey. I think the snack pack for our journey need to have the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We can have the father by the word of God.
The bible records that God’s word will be a lamp to our feet and light to our path. God’s word is so powerful that he could speak and things that were not will appear. His words yes I got to have His Word. His Word declares all that He has promised for me. Next, I got to have Jesus for I just can’t make it by myself. Nobody love me like Jesus. Jesus took on sin even though he knew no sin, endured the cross just so I could be reconciled back to the Father. Yes Jesus keep me near the cross for there’s a precious fountain of blood the cleanses my dirty soul. I got to have the Holy Ghost on my journey. It’s like fire shut up in my bones. Jesus said I leave you a comforter the Holy Spirit that will guide you into all truth. Do you have the Holy Spirit?

Makes you love enemies

Makes you walk right.

Keeps you when get sad.

The Holy Ghost

Protects you from danger

Dries your tears when you cry

Make you laugh when nothings funny

Hold you when your lonely

Are you ready for the Journey?

Sometimes on the journey the winds will begin to blow, The storm will be raging, You may even have to cry sometimes but God will be with you on your journey and you will never walk alone. The Psalmist declared “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
As long as I got King Jesus I can do all things and I am ready for my journey.
Use me Lord in thy service, draw me nearer everyday for I am willing, willing to run all the way. If I falter while I’m trying Lord don’t be angry let me stand for I’m willing Lord to run all the way.
All the way, all the way Lord I’m willing to run all the way. I falter while I’m trying Lord don’t be angry let me stand for I’m willing Lord to run all the way.
