The entirety of this chapter centers around the fact that God is in control of all things. In the midst of both the good and the bad, it is God who is determining the outcome of all things. He is the hero of the story. Our focus this morning in this passage of scripture is that God handles all things.
Much of this week’s message will be a review of previous points. But all of it centers around one central point: God leads people to Himself.
In verse 5, God reveals that the Egyptians will come to know the Lord. This is vital for the release of the people of Israel. God’s making Himself known is for the purpose that they might believe in Him.
I was reminded of a quote from John Piper this week: The point of missions is worship. The reason God draws people to Himself is so that they will worship Him.
First we recognize

God leads people to Himself despite our insecurities (v. 28-30)

This is not a second protest from Moses but rather a restating of his hesitancy. It is clear that Moses is doubting his own ability to deliver the message and act as the voice of God for Pharaoh if the people of God refused to listen to him.
This is a point that has already been stated but God is in control despite how we feel about our own abilities.

God leads people to Himself through his people (v. 1-2)

In the next chapter God reminds Moses that He is going to use both he and Aaron to lead the people out of Israel. What is interesting is how God is going to use Moses as His mouthpiece.
It is a helpful reminder for you and I that we are often going to be the only representation of God

God leads people to Himself through his power (v. 3-4)

The point of Pharaoh’s heart being hardened is important. But what is far more important is the fact that it is the Lord that multiplies signs and wonders.
We have signs and wonders all around us of the work of God and his power. We may not see it in the moment, but He is always at work. At many points his power is on display in the smallest details. At other times, it is a groundbreaking moment where we witness exactlly what He can do.

God leads people to Himself through obedience (v. 6)

Finally, God’s will is accomplished when we obey Him. Moses and Aaron do exactly what it is that God says that they should do. We know the end of the story and how God is calling us to do something. Sometimes it is remaining where we are. Other times, it is going. At some points we are led to jump out of our comfort zone. And yet there are times where we must do exactly what we’ve been gifted to do.
God has revealed Himself to you but have you believed?
