The Ugliness of Pride
The Ugliness of Pride
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Pride is first on the list of the things the Lord detests. The issue with pride from the Lord’s perspective is that a proud person maintains independence from the Lord and refuses to make any sort of change.
The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.
The list from lady wisdom here exposes exactly what goes hand in hand with pride: arrogance, wickedness, and the perverse mouth.

Proud person || widow
Destroy || Establish
Boundary || House
Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin.
Even the prideful manage to turn plowing a field into an evil endeavor.
