Introduction
If you have your Bibles, you can take them and open them to Daniel chapter 7. We have spent 2 weeks in Daniel chapter seven, so far, covering the four kingdoms, and the little horn aka the antichrist. We have seen the fate of empires in this chapter, and how each empire marks a time of history, and how the Ancient Roman Empire was intended for us to not only consider the history of the Silent Era, but that it served as a prototype to a final empire, that would create a united front led by what we discussed last week, “the little horn”, or as we determined last week the antichrist. This means that of chapter 7, we have covered verses 1-8, and verses 15-28, and going in that order was intentional, as I mentioned last week, I wanted to approach this chapter by looking at how these events would unfold in chronological order. This morning, we will focus on the middle portion of this chapter, verses 9-14, and I will tell you on the front end, as I have made mention of the “eschaton”, the divine conclusion to all of history, this morning, we will see God’s divine plan for all of history. Brothers and sisters, my aim this morning is to remind you that all of history has its purpose, and in order to do that, I want to give you two points about the Eternal Kingdom that we see in these verses, so if you will stand with me, as we read Daniel 7:9-14.

(1) The Ancient of Days
(1) The Ancient of Days
a. His Eternal Presence (The Title “Ancient of Days”)
- Psalm 90:2- Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
b. His Holy Presence (White Clothing, Pure Wool Hair)
c. His Righteous Presence (The Use of Fire)
- Righteous to sit on the throne
- Righteous in judgement
- Revelation 20:12-14- And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
d. His Royal Presence (The Servants)
- 1 million servants
- 100,000,000 standing before him
Application:
Edification in the church (for belief and behavior)
Accountability in the church
Discipline in the personal life
(2) The Son of Man
(2) The Son of Man
a. His Grand Entrance
- Revelation 5:6-10- And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne. And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”
b. His Inherited Dominion
- Everlasting Kingdom
- Indestructible Kingdom
c. His Complete Reign
so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
