The Primacy of Love

Psalm 30 / 1 Corinthians 13

What Type of Love? v4-7

Eros - romantic love

Philia - brotherly, or friendship, camaraderie

Storge - familial; a natural affection like betwen parents & children

Agape - to have sincere appreciation and high regard for; to regard with affection and concern

Time To Love - v8-12

Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 “1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: … 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.”

What Time Is It for you? for us together?

Mark 12:30–31 “30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.””

Never-ending love - amplified into eternity

Mature love - The treacherous minefield of relationships

We know this much! - we don’t have to wait

Love is better than all spiritual miraculous gifts

Love is better than the greatest intellectual gifts

Love is greater than the greatest faith & conviction

…because it is foundational to them all

Love is the greatest motivator of Evangelism

Church Family, everything we do in life, church life especially, needs to be founded on loving. It’s time to double down on loving! Let us love (action/choice) and we will more naturally love (feel) everybody more and more.
