ima give you a minute to get there
today we will be going over
a very famous passage
to live is Christ and to die is gain
but before we go into that
let us have a time of prayer
PRAY

His freedom will come

as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Death of the body is the doorway to my reward
and my reward is Christ !!!!!!!

paul explains my life is in service to Jesus
as long as I live it is all about Christ
If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.
I dont know what he means when he says

I know he does not mean suicide
but maybe he is so close to death
he knows how he can
exactly go about being martyred
yet he realizes to live is Christ
and this is far more important to the church and
people around him
for to live is fruitful work
and paul will continue to develop this point

Q. is Christ your primary reason for living
we ought to understand
every aspect of our life is by the grace that God has given us
your family is a gift from God
your skills are a gift from God
your Job is by the grace of God
I want you to take every aspect of every second and every breath
and aknowledge it is all by the grace of God
as believers we hold the gospel message that brings forth eternal salvation

our duty is to live for Him
in the way of knowing He lives in us
and everyday we have the option when we wake up
I am living for myself
I am living for Christ
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
living for Christ comes by faith
that His spirit is in you
and that He loves you
aknowledge His spirit is in you
and choose every morning
God I am living for you
what do you want me to do
and you will find yourself being about the fathers business

I have planned our family vacation
every morning I am waking up
and adjusting plans for my vacation
this vacation has my heart in a sense
I am governing this week in july based off of my desires to show my kids a fun time
for this period of time I am living for my vacation
I need to take a step back
and inquire of the Lord
for He is over my vacation
then I can live for Christ
and still go on my vacation
and not replace my purpouse for living
same thing for my work in the youth group
and family
my purpouse is to teach you guys and my family Christ
He is of the utmost imoprtance in all of our lives
for paul living is for Christ
yet he would still prefer to die
For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.
the reason he would rather die is
because dying is gain
yet he is hard pressed
desiring both
but it is gain because He will get to Go and be fully with Christ in heaven
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
and this is our next point
Death is a promotion

this is why we can have peace at the death of our loved ones
who are chrisitans
o yes we mourn
but we also celebrate
the embrace that our loved ones have with Jesus
paul knew this well
and believed it
it is not just better but far better
although it is better for him
not for others
this is the reminder I get when I am struggling
Lord I just want to be with you in heaven
Q. Why?
No sin in heaven
fullness of joy
the tangible presence of Christ almighty
guys dying is the promotion
we build our entire life on Christ for the
reward of being with Him forever
death is the first step into eternity
and paul is so confident in CHrist
that He knows where he is going.…

I hope he killed me ‘ so I could be with my savior

he said wow you really believe that , thats wild

Death must be welcomed
however it is better for you to be here
until your work is finished
But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again.

because HE still had more of Christ to share with the saints
it was necessary

and so out of love for brother

His desire changed from His desire
to Jesus desire
to stay with the church and continue to impart.
living or dying means serving Christ

Pauls mission is to keep living to serve Christ
his mission is to continue teaching and fellowshipping with
the philippians for their progress and Joy in the faith
this is my prayer for you
that you would make progress
and to have joy in your faith
in the end paul looks to leave prison
and to be joined with them again
so that they would glorify God in what HE has done
and we see in this passage
that our life is in Christ as a christian
we must live for Him
we must die for Him
so that whatever comes our way
we have a mission
and it is to serve Him by serving our neighbor
let us get the idea out of our heads that we are living for ourselves
you are not called to live for yourself
you are called to take you life
and make all of your life point to Christ
let us repent from being self centered and
let us start living with Christ at the fore front of our minds
my family is His
my kids are His
my heart is His
my mind is His
my everything is His
Lord use our life as a testimony for yours
