Empowered for Life: Understanding the Vital Ministry of the Holy Spirit

We are going to look at the essential role of the Holy Spirit in the life of believers, emphasizing His active presence, guidance, and transformative power in our life.
John 16:12 ESV
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
Jesus wanted to say a lot more than he had already said, but they were not able to receive it or understand it.
The Old Testament was also composed by the Holy Spirit, Just as much as the New Testament was. but there was a still a big misunderstanding of who these scriptures were pointing too. So much so, that when Jesus did fulfill them, no one at first comprehended it
1 Peter 1:10–12 ESV
Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.
Luke 24:25–27 ESV
And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
John 16:12 NASB95
“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
All that Jesus wanted to say to them was spoken to them later on in the New Testament when the Holy Spirit came.
The Holy Spirit points to Christ by revealing His character and work, empowering believers to reflect His glory, and providing the necessary gifts for the body of Christ to function effectively.
How much work is done in the church in our own human power and wisdom instead of relying on the Holy Spirit?
2 Corinthians 3:6 ESV
who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
To us the Bible is the place where The Spirit has chosen to reveal Jesus to us. Paul writing to Timothy said, The scriptures are able to make one wise unto salvation by faith in Christ.
2 Timothy 3:15 NIV
and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 4:1–2 NKJV
I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
In our minds we have often divorced the ministry and function of the Holy Spirit from the scriptures, a big mistake that has caused all kinds of error.
John 16:13 NASB95
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
The word of truth and the Spirit of truth are the same message.
