No death one in Christ
Considering THAT seems opposite
shall never perish
no take them out hand
They will put you to death...
but not hair on head be destroyed (Lk 21:18)
Of Old
reflected Israel OT
Joseph
chosen head of the tribes of the people
seemed suffer even for being good
suffer, but all turned for good self and even brothers sold pieces of silver
preserved head and body
given bad and good leaders
always persevere till coming of messiah
even exile was for their good
Reflected individual Athens
Socrates, no harm come good man (drinks Hemlock sentence)
important identity is first in soul
what harms something is what corrupts it
unhealth corrupts body
but vice corrupts soul
but vice only comes within
good person therefore unharmed in soul
nothing outside us can take our immortal souls
God’s body and the individual cannot be snatched from God
Both visions (individual and Church) united in Christ
Church
not just soul but entire self, body and Church all
Church of Christ will never fail (Matt 16:18)
individual
Nothing from outside defiles, but only that comes from our heart: “evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder (Mk 7:21).
not destroyed by lack of food or bad food, but destroyed by immorality
For us
Individually
nothing external to fear
none can snatch you
the only thing fear reject Christ in your life,
No man, no prince, not even the devil can snatch you from a life lived in Christ
and what is that,
live in communion and doctrines of Church
Pope Leo XIV “people who think they can follow Christ "in their own way" without being part of the body, are, unfortunately, living a distortion of what is really an authentic experience.”
Church
Compare Church to many many many many human organizations b4
here we stand leo xiv, 267th Pope of the flock of Christ
so many hope it will reject millenia old faith
the gates of hell have not prevailed, not now not ever
many many times seemed brink of it, but no
death never claims his flock either in the individual or the whole
live in Christ, live in Church, and know peace.
no death one in Christ
