Colossians 3:12 CSB
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,

You Are Chosen!

Who is Chosen? (ME)
Colossians 3:12 CSB
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
Once again - Who is Chosen? (ME)
You are chosen! God made you and He chose you!
Before God made YOU, He CHOSE YOU and had a plan for you!

God Chose You For A Purpose!

Let’s see what scripture says our purpose is!
1 Peter 2:9 CSB
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Our purpose is to shout the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light!
Darkness - Sin (we all have it)
Light - Righteousness
Righteousness - living a life that is pleasing to God.
Who is the one who called us out of darkness (sin) into the light (righteousness)?
God - We are going to see how He did it in just a minute!

You Are CHOSEN and CHANGED!

When we choose to accept Christ as savior, there is a change. But what changes?
Our sin is gone - Jesus took it.
When He took our sins, He gave us righteousness because of his mercy.
1 Peter 2:10 CSB
10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
We were not His - God couldn’t have us because of sin.
But because of Jesus - We are now HIS!
Because we hadn’t recieved mercy (forgiveness) before Jesus
But now we have if you have accepted Christ.
CROSS SKIT HERE!

Conclusion:

God has chosen you - have you chosen Him?
If you have - that is great!
If you haven’t - here is what you need to know and believe.
we are sinners - we mess up - God can’t let sinners into heaven.
But God loves us so much that he sent Jesus to take our sin on the cross.
Jesus died and was buried - 3 days later hHe rose from the grave
After that He went to heaven where He is waiting for our time to get there.
But you only go there if you believe and accept these things.
Romans 10:9 CSB
9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:13 CSB
13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
What does ‘everyone’ mean?
YOU!
So, who did God choose?
YOU!
Have you put your trust and faith in him? Have you chosen Him?
Who do we need to believe in and confess to receive salvation?
What is one way you can remind yourself that you are loved and chosen by God daily?
What is the purpose we have as God’s chosen people?
How did Jesus change our status from not being God’s people to being His people?
What does it mean to live a life that is pleasing to God?
