The meaning of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Psalm 9 & Psalm 10 form an acrostic psalm. An “acrostic” is a literary device in which each new line of a poem begins with a different letter, arranged so that the whole series of letters coveys something meaningful. In all OT acrostic psalms, these letters follow the order of the Hebrew alphabet indicating a fullness or connection between the scriptures.
Psalms 9 and Psalm 10 are worship songs to God. Which is a form of prayer. Worship is a form of communication and is offered as a prayer up to God.
Prayer = communication with God
Prayer is the singular bridge between you and God. The state of your prayer life is the state of your God relationship. It is as vital to your well-being to develop a flourishing prayer life, as it is to develop satisfying communication with loved ones.
If your prayer is exclusively woe is me or I want this or that. And never great are you Lord that is a direct reflection of your inner state.
