Isa 53.4-5: Surely he has borne (nasa) our griefs (choli) and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed (rapha).
Ex 15.26 - “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I AM the LORD, your healer.”
Ex 23.25-26 - You shall serve the LORD your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you....I will fulfill the number of your days.
Num 21.9 - So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole. And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live.
Deut 7.15 - And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you knew, will he inflict on you, but he will lay them on all who hate you.
Deut 32.39 - There is no other god beside me; I kill and I make alive (chayah); I wound and I heal (rapha).
2 Chron 16.12 - In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet, and his disease became severe. Yet even in his disease he did not seek the LORD, but sought help from physicians.
Proverbs 4.20-22: For they (words of God) are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.
Ps 41.3-4: The LORD sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health.
Ps 6.2 - Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; heal me, O LORD, for my bones are troubled.
Ps 30.2-4: O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me...You restored me to life that I should not go down to the pit.
Ps 103.2-5: Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Ps 107.19-20: Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.
Isa 38.16 - Oh restore me to health and make me live!
Mt 8.16-17: That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”
1 Cor 6.13-20 - The body is meant...for the Lord, and the Lord for the body...do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
2 Pet 1.19 - we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. (re: Healing, I see this as the Word of God providing a rock and stability while dealing w/my doubts, until I am fully persuaded and consecrated and the day dawns with the Morning Star rising in my heart! Comp Pro 4.20)
See also: Mal 4.2 - But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
———————————————————
“In the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, I take authority over these illnesses, diseases, viruses, disorders, and weaknesses. I command every cell, every organ, and every system of this body to come into alignment with the Word of God. Sickness, I curse you at the root. Leave this body now. Spirit of infirmity, I reject you and resist you. I command you to leave this body now. Body, receive the life of God! Let the resurrection power of Jesus flow into every part. By His stripes, this body is healed. Amen.”

RE: Testing of our faith; waiting on God
James 1.3-8 + Psalm 78:37 & notes there. See also: https://youtu.be/UYmxaQD0jrc?si=tUuPAgPxbv04yK-2
See Ps 78.40-41, 18: How often when we are tested do we find in our hearts rebellious ways and attitudes that grieve God. So it may be that as we are tested, we test God in return.

🔹 What John G. Lake Taught in the Healing Homes:
Healing is in the Atonement
Lake strongly taught that physical healing was included in Christ’s atoning work, citing verses like Isaiah 53:4–5 and Matthew 8:17. Therefore, healing was the believer’s right.
Divine Healing is Spiritual, Not Medical
He did not rely on medicine or doctors. Healing was to come directly through the power of God and the exercise of faith.
Faith Must Be Active
Healing, he taught, required the sick person to engage their faith—through prayer, Scripture, confession, and trust in God's Word.
The Spirit of Life Overcomes Disease
Lake believed that the life of God, indwelling the believer, literally repelled sickness. He often referenced Romans 8:2 ("the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus").
Holiness and Healing Go Together
A key teaching was that sin and sickness were related—sometimes directly, sometimes spiritually. Therefore, repentance and personal holiness were integral to healing.
Sample Daily Structure at a John G. Lake Healing Home
7:00 AM – Personal Devotion
Patients and workers begin the day with quiet time: Bible reading, prayer, and meditation on healing Scriptures (e.g., Psalm 103, Isaiah 53, James 5).
8:00 AM – Communal Prayer & Confession
Everyone gathers to declare God’s promises over their bodies:
“I am redeemed from the curse of the law. By His stripes I am healed. The law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
9:00 AM – Teaching Session
A Healing Technician or Lake himself teaches on divine healing, faith, or walking in the Spirit.
Example theme: “Healing Belongs to You” based on Isaiah 53 and Matthew 8.
10:00 AM – One-on-One Ministry
Healing Technicians lay hands on assigned patients, pray in faith, and speak life and healing into their bodies.
They rebuke sickness directly (similar to Jesus rebuking fever in Luke 4:39).
12:00 PM – Meal & Rest
2:00 PM – Scripture Meditation
Patients are assigned healing Scriptures to speak aloud, visualize, and internalize.
Example: “Surely He has borne my sickness and carried my pain…” (Isaiah 53:4, personalized)
3:00 PM – Corporate Prayer & Praise
Group prays in the Spirit, sings hymns of faith, and testifies of progress or healing.
6:00 PM – Evening Teaching or Testimony
Encouragement from Scripture, testimonies from those who have been healed, and impartation of hope.
9:00 PM – Prayer of Release & Rest
Patients are encouraged to rest in the finished work of Christ, with a short prayer of trust:
“Lord Jesus, I thank You that Your healing virtue is working in me now. I receive Your life. I trust in Your power. I rest in Your love.”
