“Where does my healing come from? My healing comes from waking up every day and choosing to follow Jesus.”
How do we present ourselves as a living sacrifice?
“present” - paristemi
To offer ourselves to God. The technical term for presenting sacrifices in Leviticus.

1. The Sacrificial System.

People could not enter the inner portion because of God’s intense glory.
Holiness - God’s pure and powerful presence.
How did they come near?
Rituals - Animal sacrifices, sacred days
Priesthood - Appointed men who when in on behalf of Israel

Day of Atonement
Priest would take two goats
Kill one, carry blood into God’s presence and cover altar.
Put hands on 2nd goat, confess sins, and cast into wilderness as a scapegoat.
Despite their corruption, there was a way into God’s presence.
From the beginning, God’s people have been taught to bring their sin into God’s presence.

2. We yield ourselves to God’s plan.

Present from 12:1 is same used in Romans 6:13.
Neither yield to sin, but yield unto God.
We live as if we are God’s property to be used according to his will.
Presented for kingdom use.
Can you think of anything more attractive to build a ministry?
By continually offering ourselves to God, we can draw near into his presence.

3. We exist for the sake of God’s glory.

This word “present” is noteworthy.
Presenting child Jesus, God presents the saved, Christ presents the church.
When people die, they die forever.
When Jesus died, he lived forever. When Christians die, they live forever.
This building is for the glory of God.
God’s glory is not what we contribute to. God’s glory is what we give our all for.
