Urge congregation to look around and see who’s missing and reach out to them
Discipleship:
We are seeing more men get plugged in to discipleship in the form of men’s groups, but we really need to see more men discipling other men one on one.
Women’s bible studies are steady but I’d love to see more one on one discipleship amongst women as well.
Our children’s ministry is booming and with Jennifer’s leadership and so many women coming along side her to help it really seems to be going well. We still have a need for children’s teachers and helpers, specifically on our Sunday services.
Youth:
Our youth ministry has had it’s share of ups and downs. It is also one of our biggest holes in our ministry overall. It’s not that Ken and the Comers aren’t giving it their best, it’s just that with their other responsibilities, they just don’t have the time to invest in our youth the way our youth and parents need them to be.
For the last 2 years we’ve had a chair in my office with a sign on it that reads “youth pastor” and we’ve been praying that God would fill that chair in our staff meetings. This is one of the most important stages in a child’s life.
2022 - enter Jonathan and Hannah
2023 - Jonathan came back and they were dating
2024 - Hannah came back and didn’t want to leave not because
I have ben hoping they would feel God calling them to minister to our youth since 2022.
Very intentional in building relationships with the kids, even when they were here for just 2 weeks or 6 weeks.
Very intentional in discipleship which really excited me!
When Hannah went home
January story
Jonathan and Hannah’s premarital God confirmed their calling and we started talking with the leadership team.
We have confirmed their calling and have in tern, after prayer and discussion offered them a part time youth directors position.
Explain their time line as best I can.
This brings us to our budget.
Back in January we sat down and laid out some goals, one of which was to bring Ken Bell on staff full time by some time in 2026, Lord willing. That is still our hope and goal. Preferably at the beginning of the year. Now with the addition of Jonathan and Hannah that almost doubles the amount that we would need to see our giving increase. A total of $5000/month.
On average about $15,000/month in giving for 2024.
We set a budget goal in January of $16,000 for 2025
HAND OUT BUDGET SHEETS
These next two goals, bringing on the Glines and Bell full time, means we’d need to see our giving grow by just over 31%.
On average if every family in the church either started giving at a level of $100/month or our current giving families increased their giving by $100/month, the need would be met.
All I know is that God has made it clear this is what he is calling us to do staff wise. What I’m asking y’all to do is spend some time praying about what God would ask you to give or increase in giving to help meet this need.
Join me in praying for Jonathan and Hannah as they take steps to get here.
