Being A Good Waiter
Notes

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Let me give you some statistics on waiting:
Americans spend roughly 37 billion hours each year waiting in line.
This translates to about 7,000 hours or nearly one full year spent waiting over a lifetime.
Studies indicate that a significant portion of people find waiting frustrating, with some feeling bored or annoyed.
"According to a Timex survey, Americans wait:
o on average of 20 minutes a day for the bus or train
o 32 minutes whenever they visit a doctor
o 28 minutes in security lines whenever they travel
o 21 minutes for a significant other to get ready to go out
o 13 hours annually waiting on hold for customer service
o 38 hours each year waiting in traffic
o those living in Big cities wait in traffic for more than 50 hours annually
Jeff Meister said, “It’s the not knowing, the uncertainty, and the lack of control over what could happen next that makes waiting so difficult.”
I waited patiently for the Lord; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
