Titus 2:3–5 ESV
Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
One morning, I jokingly told my husband he dropped the ball because he didn’t make me coffee and I was having trouble getting motivated to start the day. My 5-year-old son overheard me and asked me to explain what “dropped the ball” meant. A few minutes later, he came into our bedroom holding an overflowing coffee mug with a dishcloth underneath it to catch the drips. He said to my husband, “You dropped the ball, but I picked the ball up,” and he handed me the worst-tasting, most watered-down yet sweetest cup of coffee ever. —Jennifer Stockberger, Mount Vernon, Ohio

Pain 1-8

Context: Hannah is barren in a culture where a woman’s worth was tied to motherhood.
Peninnah mocks her and causes deep distress (v. 6).
Her husband Elkanah doesn't fully understand (v. 8), adding to her burden.
📝 Application: Many mothers carry silent or misunderstood pain—whether it's infertility, wayward children, or unappreciated labor. God sees and cares deeply.

Praying -Exposing her deep faith 9-18

She pours out her soul to the Lord (v. 15).
She makes a vow, dedicating any child God gives her back to Him (v. 11).
Her prayer is fueled by desperation and faith, not manipulation.
Eli misunderstands her—but she stays humble and faithful.
📝 Application: God honors the prayers of faithful mothers. Never underestimate the power of a mother's intercession.

Preparing-she prepared for his departure

she spent time bonding with him until the promised time to give him to his purpose
Biological Connection: During pregnancy, a child's cells migrate into the mother's body, forming a bond that lasts for decades. These microchimeric cells may assist tissue repair and safeguard against cancer.
Emotional Development: The mother's emotional state, sleep cycles, and voice influence the baby's brain development, shaping emotional regulation and social skills.
Secure Bonds: Secure bonding with a mother figure provides a safe haven for exploration and learning, influencing mental health and resilience.
Prenatal Bonding: Emotional connections during pregnancy predict healthier, positive relationships with children later in life.
Intergenerational Impact: Strained childhood relationships can weaken prenatal bonds, affecting future parent-child relationships. These facts highlight the profound impact of the mother-child bond from conception until the child reaches four years old, emphasizing the importance of nurturing this relationship for a healthy and secure future.

Modern motherhood comes with its own set of challenges. Many mothers balance their careers, household responsibilities, and societal expectations while striving to provide the best for their children. Despite these demands, the essence of motherhood remains unchanged—a commitment to nurturing, guiding, and loving unconditionally. While technology and social media offer conveniences, they can sometimes hinder meaningful connections. Children and parents alike are drawn into digital distractions, making it crucial for mothers to carve out moments of genuine interaction. These moments, however small, can have a profound impact on the child’s emotional well-being.

Providing ch2:19

She made him a robe every year
The cost a woman pays to be a mother is great, they provide a womb
food
As the primary caregivers for their children, mothers play a vital role in instilling values, morals, and beliefs in their offspring. "A child has the closest and a divine connection with the mother, much beyond the umbilical cord. “The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world,” said the poet William Ross Wallace. In India, too, the mother is given the utmost respect and treated as equal to God for the sacrifices she makes. In their formative years, children depend on their mothers immensely for health, education and safety. As beautiful as it sounds, motherhood has a permanent impact on women’s health and lifestyle......– Women in family”
some mothers may not have been good mothers, some are so broken that all they could give or provide is a womb and food for this short time....But as Christians we are people marked by forgiveness....Because of the sacrifice of Jesus we have been sealed by the forgiveness of God and from that salvation we are to extend that same forgiveness to those broken people who have hurt us and caused us pain....even great pain sometimes....but imagine what your forgiveness could mean for them and for you=Jesus said to those who have been forgiven much, love much.
Luke 7:47 ESV
Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

III. Hannah’s Provision – A Mother Who Received from God (vv. 19–20)

“The Lord remembered her” (v. 19) — not that He forgot, but He responded in His perfect time.
She conceives and names her son Samuel, meaning “heard by God.”
📝 Application: God sees every tear. His timing may be different, but His faithfulness is sure.

IV. Hannah’s Promise – A Mother Who Keeps Her Word (vv. 21–28)

She doesn’t just receive the blessing—she returns it.
When Samuel is weaned, she brings him to the tabernacle to serve the Lord for life (v. 28).
She releases her son, trusting God's plan is better than her own.
📝 Application: A godly mother releases her children into God’s purposes, not her own ambitions.

Praise! ch2:1-11

Hannah sings praises the Lord!!
in her praises she glorifies God and His character....true worship....
Worship is rooted in theology, not just emotion.
God reverses earthly values—He uplifts the lowly.
Worship looks both backward in gratitude and forward in hope.
Hannah Rejoices in the God of Her Salvation
