Introduction

Tell me about couples in the Bible. What married couples come to mind when you think about different Bible passages?
Adam & Eve
Abraham & Sarah
Isaac & Rebekkah
Jacob & Rachel/Leah
David & Bathsheba
Zechariah & Elizabeth
Joseph & Mary
Aquila & Priscilla
With several of these couples, there are memorable moments of their failures, struggles, and some victories. As we look at the last week of SURRENDERING YOUR SENSES, we focus on touch - the sense we turn to after the others have made their observation or fail at making a sufficient observation.
When it comes to the sense of touch, it is the sin that leads to fully falling into sin or fully follow Christ. The book of Ruth is a beautiful love story of the main idea tonight — “ Where you GO and what you DO — matters when it comes to your future relationships.
We are going to follow this main idea in Ruths story and pick up in chapter 2. Before we get there we need to understand what has happened.
Elimelech comes into town with his wife (NAOMI) and two sons (MAHLON & CHILION)
Elimelech dies (in place) [need pall-bearers to take care of the body]
Now we have Naomi and MAHLON water-malon” & CHILION “just chillin”
These sons found wives: ORPAH & RUTH (getting ready to celebrate 10 years of marriage…)
Before that day comes, MAHLON water-malon” & CHILION “just chillin” died [need pall-bearers to take care of the body]
Now we have Naomi, Orpah, and Ruth
Orpah says “Peace out girl scouts”
