Glorification
Glorification
Glorification defined - much more than just new, glorified bodies
God has made many promises to believers - OT/NT
Glorification is Yahweh fulfilling all of those promises to believers
Glorification is that final process - as Yahweh prepares the new Heaven and earth
For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.
“Perfected” - made perfect, accomplished (His will)
It’s already settled, believers, being sanctified, WILL BE GLORIFIED
Believers will be in the presence of Yahweh - grasp that!
BIG PICTURE - BELIEVER
Justified - No longer guilty
Sanctified - No longer of this world
(Then) Glorified - No more tears, no more sorrow
READ: 1 Cor 15:50-58

Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
We wait, and that waiting results in change in an instant
looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
We are immortal spirits (living eternally in Heaven or Hell)
Wrapped in sinful flesh - for now, perishable
When you get saved, that salvation is imperishable, never lost
to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
(READ vv. 3-5)
Flesh is perishable, the spirit is eternal
Yahweh changes your heart at salvation, will change your body in Glory, but more, He will equip you to live with Him forever
For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.
There can be NOTHING in Glory that is not glorified, not fit for Heaven forever!
YOU WILL EXPERIENCE FULL GLORIFICATION
Mortals on earth
Burdened by sin
Even believers being sanctified
Changed to..
Immortals in the presence of God

Not something you are just “entitled to”
God is the one who declares you worthy!
The humble believer does not say “OK - Glorify me!”
On the contrary, when you TRULY understand Yahweh, His glory, it’s more like Isaiah…
Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.”
Because of verse 4 - Isaiah 6:4 “And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke.”
Or model Peter in Luke 5:8
But when Simon Peter saw that, he fell down at Jesus’ feet, saying, “Go away from me Lord, for I am a sinful man!”
With the context being Luke 5:5–7 “Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets.” When they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break; so they signaled to their partners in the other boat for them to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats, so that they began to sink.”
God’s glory is humbling - because you, sinful you, are declared worthy when you trust Christ

Like instant gratification?
Believers in the middle of this world - can practice some glory today
Revelation 22:15 explains those “outside” the gate of Heaven, lost sinners who reject Christ, including sins we deal with here and now
Immorality, sorcery, murderers, idolaters - EVIL
We are surrounded by the presence of evil - daily
So, you who are justified, being sanctified
Put on some GLORY now - Kinda looks like…
Being forgiving
Churches loving, praying
The Word being preached, taught, shared
The Word being lived - obedience of sanctification
Peace…not nec. Calm
REMEMBER THIS: Jesus prayed in John 17 for…
For you to be holy, saved and set apart, justified and sanctified
Then…for you to see His glory, for a glimpse of what He’s already doing in you, and will perfect it, when you are where He is
“Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
And His time here was just a glimpse, a temporary previous glory
John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Doxological
We started this “basics” series with understanding “doxological”
Life here is all about His glory
Life with Him, eternally, is all about His glory
And He desires to share that, bestow it on believers, forever
Starting now!
Citizenship in heaven is already in progress
Eternity is already a present reality
NEXT - Jesus gathers the Church together
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
“What we will be….” not exactly sure, and…
…we are to be perfectly conformed to His image
Believers - live for Jesus today, knowing the blessed Hope
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
HOLD ON to those glimpses of glory today
He’s fulfilling EVERY promise to you
Planning the removal of sin from the life of saints!
That place He is preparing for us - oh man!
While we work for Christ here
Christ works for us there
Our work here is challenging - Glory, Heaven, is worth it
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

…and we will all be changed
So, patiently persevere -
Your citizenship is in Heaven - He says you are worthy
And the God of Creation is patiently eager to glorify you!
and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
Might suffer a bit here, so did Jesus
Jesus is glorified, so to will believers be - He promises
Live for Him - Glory begins today!
