When Motherhood Doesn’t Seem Fair
When Motherhood Doesn’t Seem Fair
A look at the life of Hagar will reveal that even with the perplexities and complexities of life...
God’s promises are sure
Perplexities do not frustrate God’s Purposes
God will perform what he Promised.
Hagar’s life was filled with complexity and perplexity.
It was complicated and confusing.
She was given to Abraham and Sarah because they were not totally truth to Pharoah.
She was given to Abraham by Sarah because Sarah misinterpreted what God promised her and Abraham.
She was put out because she got pregnant - the very reason she was given to Abraham in the first place.
When Sarah had Isaac, she was put out for good without anything to show for her years of service but her son, Ishmael.
Motherhood can be quite complicated and quite confusing.
Things don’t always turn out the way they seemed that they would go
People don’t always care about your situation, even though you’re struggling with children.
Many things come to you that you didn’t ask for, plan for, nor prepare for.
You end up wearing labels caused my other people’s decisions.
I came to tell mothers today… With God...
It doesn’t matter what it looks like
It doesn’t matter what others call it.
It doesn’t matter what you think it is
What matters is what God said He will do for you.

It Starts with God’s Promise - Gen 16:6-13
But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face. And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
